      Red face lucid flying dream?

hi this is my 1st post.

i had this dream a while ago but i have had it a few times (i used to be able to do it allot) i am flying but i can controll where i can go. im flying over my city and its amazing. i love these dreams. i had sort of fogot about them for a while but i have been thinking about it allot recently.

is this lucid dreaming? also in other general dreams i am not aware i am awake but i can make my dream do what i want is this lucid too?

      im rather confused

First of all, welcome to DV! As for your flying dreams, are you aware that it's a dream? If so, then you're lucid dreaming. And in other dreams, you can be in control without being aware that you are dreaming so that's what those other ones are.

This is the first time I actually looked this subject up although I have been doing it for over 20 years now. The first time I ever had a lucid dream must have been around 11 or 12. I had seen a time life comercial about how a person can control their dreams. So shortly after seeing that comercial I had a nightmare where two monsters were chasing me. Somehow that comercial poped in my head and wondered if it was true. Tried to change them into naked girls, (big surprise there right?), and it worked! Of course I woke up right after that. Im at the point now where I can just enter a dream knowing that im dreaming. But flying... I always had a problem with flying. I can do it but its so exhausting. Sometimes I actually wake up in sweat. My latest thing has been doing something in a dream and in the dream itself reflecting how all the sensations are exactly like real life. Does anyone know what im talking about?

Flying in dreams is great. Don't let anyone tell you its hard or advanced lucid dreaming or anything like that. Believing its hard is what makes it hard. I've been doing it since I was a small child and I'll continue doing it until I die. If you want to do it then its easy and its a great way to start lucid dreaming. Congrats on your progress and keep up the good work.
