      First Time!!!

First off, I'd like to say that I used to be registered here but forgot my name and E-Mail I used, something to the effect of "Kitsune" I would think. But anyway. I finally had a LD. Went like this:

I was on a train, and outside of the window were dead trees, and just about everything was a different shade of dark purple. Passengers near by uttered something that made my realize I was dreaming. The first thing I thought was "Don't wake up" , lol, several times. After that, I thought, "Let's see what I can do" I changed the dream scape, so to speak into a luscious meadow. An awesome beam of light went across my field of vision with a cool Matrix like sound effect. Then, I think I woke up and was like "Sh*t!!".

Could my level of control in that dream hint to having other LD's and just not remembering them? And, once you get to a high skill level of LD, is it as real as waking life?

Congratulations on your first lucid dream! Now we do the dance of joy!

Yes, it's entirely possible to have had lucid dreams and not remember them (especially if your dream recall isn't always that great)
and yes, a high level LD is as real, if not better, than waking life.. in terms of clarity, sounds, colors.. pretty much everything!
It's definately something to shoot for!

Congrats again on your LD! May you have many many more!

Congratulations on your first LD may there be many more to come. Like said above you may want to sharpen up on your dream recall and even go for a dream journal. If you master or become very good at Lucid Dreaming why yes my friend it is as real as waking life for instance.

In a dream I was flying down the street when I stopped and looked at a tree it was about 15 feet high and had Orange, Red, and a few Brown leaves on them. But what was amazing about these leaves? I could see the individual rivets in every leaf, the wind was blowing them and they all moved individually, I could see the rivets in the bark of the tree, as I looked at the grass I could see individual and varying lenghths of blades of grass, I could see the individual concrete slabs that made up the sidewalk and the lines and cracks they contained, the houses were varying, they had curtains, and the list just goes on.

The more control you have with Lucid Dreaming the more vivid and amazing the dream will look.

      Mine

My first lucid dream (three days since I started trying) was a few days ago. I was at hogwarts (where my house used to be), and did a reality test (lookin at my watch didn't work, so I plugged my nose and breathed...weird feeling) to notice that I was dreaming. Then I went outside and my cat had small wing. I hopped onto her and the wings grew and we flew down into the valley, where they were filming a rouge cop movie starring kirsten dunst...and then my alarm went off

musicman, how great that you had a lucid after three days of trying!

You rode your flying cat and saw Kirsten Dunst.. I'd say that was a pretty great first LD!!

Congrats and may you have many more!

Congrats to you both. May I ask what you tried to induce them musicman? I'm only on day 2 of trying, but if you can do it in 3, maybe I can too.

      I got lucky

that was the only lucid dream I've had in a few days, but it was pretty simple: I had started a dream journal and I did reality checks (looking at my watch and trying to breath through my nose closed) throughout the day whenever I remembered. something caught my attention and I did reality check in my dream

That's cool. I seem to only think about it at night, but I see how that can work.

I've been trying for 3 days too. Made a dream journal ever since but its only since yesterday that I've been making reality checks during the day. Hopefully I'll get a lucid dream soon...
