Question Has anyone heard of a child that can LD?

The reason I ask is because when I was about 7 or eight I used to have alot of nightmares, actually I still do, but back then I remember a dream where things kept changing alot and made me realise I had to be dreaming, so I ran to hide under a bed, closed my eyes and kept on telling myself to wake up, it didnt work, so I ran in fron of one of the ghost in my dream so that it would kill me and maybe then Id wake up, that didnt work either, instead I just saw myself laying there, it took me a while before I was able to figure out how to wake myself up, after that every so often Id realise in the middle of a fream that I was dreaming, sometimes Id realise it right away, but I didnt know I could control thins around me, only myself, so if nothing was going on, id be like in a ghost town, the only one there was me, so id just fly around, I used to LOVE that even tough I wasn't very good, but if something was going on id run as fast as i can and try to find a spot where I can take a few minutes to wake myself up, cause it would usually be something sacarry... oh and about that flying thing, usually id go to high up, if I kept myself low i would hit the ground and could not go up again, but going that high up was kind of scarry sometimes, is that normal?

I had my first when I was 12 or 13. Dunno if that's childish enough for you, but yeah. That was after I read about it online though.

Well, quite a lot, if not all of my dreams as a child were lucid. Now, I didn't know I could control the dreams, but I could always wake up at will. I dunno how, I just decided to wake up and I did. I was also able to be aware of my physical surroundings while I was dreaming.

I actually think most children lucid dream occasionally or even often. It's easier for kids to lucid dream than adults.

I'm 13. Does that mean it should be easier for me to get lucid dreams?

I had my first LD when I was either 7 or 9. I was being chased and forced myself to wake up. Seems like nightmares are a common window into LDing. I've been having them on and off since then, but I didn't learn what they were until a couple of years ago. And my LD count has skyrocketed since I joined DV.

I'd say a good 50% of kids have lds at some point (not to say they remember them), it's very common, specualy at younger ages, when the brain is developing and you have extensive REM.

Well, compared to the average adult, yes.

I had my first LD when I was about 4 years old. And I still remember it quite well there are quite a few LD's from when I was very little that I can recall.

Same with me, except that when I had a nightmare I'd try to get out as soon as possible. I'd use my lucidity to return to conciousness and open my eyes.

I used to WILD as a CHILD. ^^

I'd make images in my head until they formed a solid dream.

Must've been about 5 or 6. Not bad, eh?

Unfortuantely I can no longer remember how to do it. >_<

Lot's of kids LD... it's just that they don't know what it is and what the potentials are usually so they slowly lose the ability... or at least, that's my theory

is that VILD or is it really WILD?

anyway i used to LD alot when i was younger - i used to tell everyone i could control my dreams and no one would believe me.
my first one would have to be when i was about 6. there was this giant lava creature in our yard and i realized i was dreaming.

I had similer experiances to you when i had nightmares when i was younger. i would try to force myself to open my eyes to get out of the dream. i don't suppose it was true lucidity since i wasn't able to do much else, but still, kinda neat.

I remember this one moment when I was I think maybe 8 that I knew that I was dreaming in the dream. It was on and off . Because I never thought anything of it that it was actually an event called "lucid dreaming"
