      Getting bit by animals

Have any of you experienced being bit by animals? I'm trying to figure out what the meaning could be. It's happened twice now.

The first time was a very huge bald eagle. I was in the woods, mid-way up the side of mountain. It came off a branch and hovered at eye-level and reached out and struck the palm of my hand. I can still even now remember the pain of it piercing my skin. I did not try to remove it.

Several weeks after that it was a black dog that came running up out of no where and bit down on the palm of my hand, several teeth puncturing the skin - again - I can recall exactly how it felt. I can still feel my other hand wrapped around the top of the dogs mouth trying to pry it's mouth open to remove my hand. I was pushing and kicking at the dog and eventually it let go and ran down the street. I wasn't in an area that I recognized, a sort of suburban area.

Some people have said they could be spirit/totems reaching out - kind of like a smack upside the head.

      Anyone have any similar dreams?

I would say just use animals as your dream sign so when you see the animal you do a reality check, become lucid, and stop the animal from biting you...

      Hi!

They were both lucid dreams - I knew I was dreaming and with the eagle I didn't try to remove him from my hand but with the dog I did. I'm still learning (from here) what the reality checks are but I generally step into each dream knowing it's a dream. I need to figure out what I'm using as a reality check - but again - I'm trying to find more here on the site about them.

a very reliable reality check is text or looking at your watch multiple times.

tasiasolon, per my dream dictionary, to dream of being bitten by an animal means that you feel out of control in some situation in real life.

      Interpret that as you wish.

Do you know if there is something specific to the animals though? I figure it's about telling me 'something' - but those two animals don't really represent anything that I can think of right now.

Maybe that dogs are known for loyalty and my personal relationship are out of sync. Eagle is freedom - so I'm not spreading my wings - or something along that order. I might check out some animal spirit/totem sites and see if these animals have specific meanings.

      Thanks for all the replies.

One of the earliest dreams I can remember is getting bit by a snake in the foot, and when I woke up it still hurt, so I thought it had really happened.

My latest animal-bite dream (I don't know what it means):

      Jurassic Park with a Weasel
--I'm at a place like Jurassic Park accompanied by a weasel. I think of it as a weasel but actually it is big, like a fisher. I am driving thru a part with live dinosaurs, which is quite frightening for me but exciting for the weasel, which runs back and forth inside the car. Then we go into a smaller display area, like a museum. In one cage I see a baby monkey on a branch. The weasel is very interested and wants to get in to attack the tiny animal. He bites me on the finger (very painful) and launches himself at the cage, which has glass sides. I try to keep him under control. Then the parents of the baby monkey are in the cage too; I think of them as baboons but really they are dirty people. I apologize for the behavior of my weasel, and the male human/baboon says it's OK, no harm done. I sit down with the weasel and hold him tightly, trying to show that I love him and I will always love him. He radiates good feelings back to me, and I know he is contrite and loves me too.

I'd see that as someone who may grate at you at times, really loves you even though they may act out at you - such as family or a close friend.

When you think of a weasel - what's the first thing that comes to mind?

Then, think of a person around you that seems to fit that description and you might have your meaning.

That is sort of how I go about trying to interpret my dreams.

...big black scorpion on my forearm. A fire-hot sting and claws pinching the skin, the legs dangling and dragging about trying to keep hold as the hot pain mushroomed through my nerves.

This wasn't a pure lucid, btw, but it was close.
I woke up and checked my arm but it was all good

I was bitten/eaten by a crocodile in a dream when I was a kid.. I woke up with cold sweat and my heart was beating like crazy.. I knew I shouldn't have played near the crocodiles, Why are there crocodiles in the middle of sweden anyway?
I sleep so I don't have to feel

As long as we can swim freely in our dreams we won't need that sky anymore

First and only lucid dream: 23 july-07

As a young child, I remember having a dream about being chased, pinned down, and mangled by a tiger in my house. It was a very disturbing dream that happened when I was perhaps 7 or 8 years of age, and I remember it almost perfectly all these years later.

I dunno what it might've meant. Perhaps not to buy a tiger as a pet? :p

bit by a fucking wierd black bear and it was my minds choosing

yeh strange that biting stuff, ive always had problems keeping myself in a lucide state and so pretty much gave up trying after having a lot of lucid then instant wake ups when i first went to uni. now ive finished uni im back home and i think the whole 'lucid dream happens more when youve changed your lifestyle/home thing' applies here. over the last few weeks ive been watching documentaries and shit at random on the internet and some of them have been about aliend abduction which described how 'feel a presence in the room' and that your 'paralyzed' and how 'if you communicate to them telepathically that your anxious and afraid they will leave you alone'. straight after that i think i started experiencing wat i know understand to be sleep paralysis, whereby i cannot move and i can feel people around me and i see a strange light and my entire body is buzzing, for a while i was fuking sketched out cos i thought, perhaps this is visitation, but after a bit of research i found out this is common to pre lucid/rem sleep. anyways, once i knew that the next night i had a lucid dream and did did the spint
around thing to keep it going, which worked for a while. then as i normally do my mind started being my 0wn worst enemy and i tried to scare myself bu imagining horrible things, to stop myself waking/shitting myself i said to myself in lucid state 'lie back and let the dream continue as my mind wants it to' anyways at this point a small black bear appeared in my hands and started biting me near the face, after this happened i was in full lucid control. this has happened a couple of times when ive been trying to control my lucid dreams when my mind seems to resist and so i start imagining scary things or relax control and have this fuzzy bear biting teh fuk outta me....wierd....and wat a ramble.... dream on!

I was bit by a dog on my thumb once in a dream, it felt wierd, but I remember it didn't hurt like it should have incredibly. As far as I can recall, I never feel the pains in dreams like they should feel like in reality.

What I've learned is not to look for the meaning of things that happen in your dreams, really. There is no real meaning when you examine many instances. While people often associate occurances with weakness/strength, I often find they are much too random and are often just "obstacles" there because they can be - they would probably happen whether they have meaning or not.
