      yeeh!! first intentional LD!

My sleeping pattern's been screwed up for the past month, and over the past few days I had become sorta...nocturnal. I've been trying to fix it by pulling all nighters (I can force myself to stay awake, but not stay asleep). But it didn't work. I'd just fall asleep once morning came. My parents would wake me up a couple hours after I had fallen asleep (I'd fall asleep at 8am, they'd wake me up around noon) and I'd stay up the rest of the day, stay up all night, then fall asleep the next morning, only to be woken up again after a few hours.

Yesterday I stayed up long enough for my mom to take me out to breakfast. I saw this as the beginning of a stimulating-enough day to keep me awake. When we got back it was around noon. Mom said that she was taking my brother out on a playdate, which told me I'd be staying home the rest of the day, and not doing anything interesting enough to stay awake. I was a little sleepy already, so I looked up WBTB techniques.

I went to bed at 1pm, and set my alarm for 5pm. When the alarm went of I got angry, and didn't feel like getting out of bed, but I tried the WILD technique while going back to sleep. I knew it wasn't gonna work, but I tried anyway.

It ended up being a DILD, but I don't remember the dreamsign, and it wasn't a very significant one anyway, if there even was one. I was standing on a sidewalk downtown in the middle of the night. I was accompanied by one of my classmates. I don't remember who it was- it kept changing, but I didn't know him very well. There was a streetlamp even though we weren't at an intersection. I did some things to ensure I stayed lucid, I forgot in which order: I dreamspun, I concentrated on the tiled sidewalk trying to increase my awareness I was dreaming, and I did a reality check by pulling on my fingers and watching them break off and regrow. And I probably spent 5 minutes doing this, sorta fascinated, I started losing lucidity. Oh well.

I remember the rest of my dream as well. It was pretty boring. We went to the local teen center where people were cooking, including this librarian I knew, who in the dream was a supervisor at the center. I started helping out, etc. I won't bore you with the details. Ive forgotten what happened after that.

      Well that's pretty freaky!

Congratulations on your first intentional LD and, as webmaster stated, they will get more interesting!

You have no idea how much that would freak me out in a non-ld. That sounds like you had good control, and It was nice of you to help out that librarian.
