Talking My first lucid dream, finally!

Alright, I've been reading on this site and in books for the better part of 2 or 3 years now. I've changed my sleeping habits, diet, lifestyle, and all kinds of things in hopes of having a lucid dream.

As of last night, I hadn't even thought of lucid dreaming for at least a week. I was driving my car (exceptionally fast, in addition to my already fast driving) down the highway, which is daily thing for me. Suddenly the highway runs out and is replaced by a river. My car is flying through the air, skips a couple times, then sets down and starts sinking. I quickly swim to the bank where my best friend is. He also did the same thing and we were watching our cars sink. I was freaking out. I drive a very nice car and was almost in tears. I said "This cannot actually be happening. Why is there a river in the middle of the highway. I must be dreaming!" and then it hit me. I turned around and tried to push my finger through the palm of the opposite and it went through! I was ecstatic. I immediately look up and fly as high as I could and then came back down. I almost immediately lost lucidity, and didn't think to rub my hands together or spin, but I became lucid. I know it's possible now, and my interest in ld'ing has been revived. :p

      Congrats on your first LD.
Remember from where you came, and stay true to your ideals. There is no place for those who have lost their souls.

Man, I've never seen someone so dedicated to LDing that hasn't had one in 2-3 years. By about 2 months of not having an LDing I would have quit. Congrats, I hope it was well worth the effort!

It was easy to stay motivated just because I would have brief moments of lucidity in my dreams, just never long enough to do anything. Just like those moments kept me motivated, so will this. Now I know it's absolutely possible for me to do it.
