      Summoning requirements

Last night in my lucid dream I tried to summon someone. It didn't work. I tried a few more times. No luck... I even tried different ways of summoning to no avail.

I tried to summon a house for the person to be in... The farthest I got was a floating roof. I ended up having to follow the requirements of a DC who was around me for the entire dream before my summoning worked...

[Full dream here... look for the pink one]

I'm just wondering has this ever happened to someone before and/or if you could give me some advice to prevent this from happening again or work my way around these things? It wasn't so much as frustrating as it was odd... I know I have great summon skills, that's why it's just odd...

[I'm not really sure if this should go into dram control because it's a little of both, dream control and lucid experience right?]

      Here you go

Personally, I use item-assisted summoning. For example, you could pull your cellphone out of your pocket and call them to ask them to come wherever you are. Or you use it to remind yourself that you called them earlier, and they should be driving up behind you right now. The point is that it is easier to belive if you have physical evidence.

Oooh, that sounds rather convenient, I mainly tried ways where the DC would be nearby or right behind or in front of you [I like quick results] maybe if I could ask them to be there in 5 minutes it would work... Now... I just have to not think of the idea that they lost their cellphone...

Edit- But still... that doesn't explain how or why that issue even came up... it's not like I'm not confident over things I've done before or anything [summoning]

i was thinking of using the cellphone idea because that way u will be expecting them to show up which is the key in summoning.

I noticed when I summon things they don't turn out to be where I expect them to. For instance I used my normal method of summoning holding the right hand up and willing it into existence. I tried a Porsche didn't appear, I tried a Lotus didn't appear, tried a Ferrari didn't appear. I was trying to show off to a DC so I was getting pissed so I gave up and turned around and low behold all three cars I had summoned where right behind me. So it didn't show up where I wanted it to, but it did get summoned.

      Hey there,

Two more things that can help

      - Asking another dreamcharacter where the person is: I've never gotten a negative answer here (ie: "I don't know"). They always seem to know where the person I'm looking for is. Ofcourse getting there is sometimes a different matter, but at least that way i'm on the trail

      - Start thinking on associations to the person (for example, if the person has a dog, think about the dog, think about his/her house, think about his/her job, think about your last time together. Go to a place where the person could likely be). This will facilitate the character's appearance. Basically, don't just focus on the person itself, focus on everything about the person.

Personally, I've been experimenting with going where the person is likely to be, rather then bringing the person to me. I use portals (doors/windows) to quickly change the dream around me and go search the person in his enviroment. So far I've had a better succes rate with that then trying to bring the person to me. Especially if the person you're looking for isn't likely to be found in your enviroment. For example, say you're trying to meet a historical figure, Napoleon for instance. He isn't likely to just wander around your town, so in order to bring him to you, your consciousness has to make a huge suspension of disbelief. Now if you can change the dream, and go to his era, his time, you'll likely have an easier time finding him. Well, I do, in any case.

      Just some suggestions,

Thats what i do if i want to summon someone who lives near me i go to their house and this works rerally well for me because i expect them to be there. Another idea for if u say meet a dc take their phone number and any time u want to summon them give them a ring.

These ideas sound really useful, I was really more focused on finding the person directly [without asking DCs where they'd be or such], and I didn't think of changing the environment, I spent my whole lucid part of the dream on the bridge. Thanks guys

Use the gutty feeling sensation for it to work. You really gotto feel the connection with that person in order to see them. More likely you have to imagine them somewhere in your dreams but you have to find him or her. Best method is: Using gutty feeling along with visuals of that person. Meaning really feel their presence as you visualize how they look like ect...It's like an old video card trying to run doom 3 on it but it cant because it needs to be compatible to that game. Meaning having high graphic qualities which it does not have and therefore it needs to have comparability of that game (higher graphics).
