      Extreme realism

I've been Lding for awhile now, but never have I had a dream like I did last night. It was the most realistic dream I have ever had. I was snowboarding with my friends and I could literaly feel the wind in my face and the coldness of the snow. It was amazing. The crazy thing was it felt exactly like real snowboarding down to the very last detail. I wasn't fully lucid in the dream because I couldn't control everything, but I could say and do everything I wanted. I think it was better being half lucid in this dream for the realism. I have never expierienced a dream like this before. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a dream that was almost real like this one and when you wake up you are like, WOW ?

Yeah most of my longer LD's tend to be like that. I was watching a Tree and a plants leafs blowing in the wind and looked up into the sky to see the clouds rolling into the distance. There was a construction worker on a jack hammer using it on a sidewalk and I could see pieces of the cement flying up into the air. Very realistic, but like I said most of my dreams tend to be like that.

yeah, i had one a few weeks back - ive had dozens of LD but none this clear...

i was driving with my dad in the car around sunset and he said something that seemed a bit odd (something about how christmas should really be called "beatrice" or something) and i laughed and thought "now would be a great time for an RC"...

to my caomplete shock, the RC indicated that i was dreaming! immediately the car and my father disappeared and i was standing along in the middle of the empty street.

i could not believe that i was asleep - i was completely lucid and for a minute i just looked around at everything amazed that nothing i was seeing was real. i could feel my breathing, my heartbeart, and my eyes blinking. i had no idea what to do so i just started running down the street and at the end i leaped into the air and started soaring over the neighborhood. after a few seconds tho, my state of complete shock overcame me and i woke up...the world i saw
with my eyes when i awoke seemed just as real as the one i had just left..........scary.

I've had those before! you just get so swept away in how life like everything is. I love it when they're long and that way, it just feels wonderful. And it's even better when you don't lose lucidity from the beauty of it all.

Does anyone see huge mountainscapes that seem to pierce the upper atmosphere and forests that seem to stretch on forever? Or cities that span each horizon? My cities have lakes or seas with islands covered in buildings, and gigantic bridges and rivers as well--they just look unreal. I love to fly as soon as I become conscious, because I get this overwhelming (I think that is the only world that can truly describe the lucid experience) sense of joy just in witnessing such beauty.

But I wonder why the most solid sense of hyperrealism I achieve is from the landscape or the buildings within my surroundings--while objects or people lack the same clarity. I also wish I knew how I imagined the details of these structures, since they certainly do not exist in the real world . . .

I only experience that hyper-reality when I intentionally meditate mself into a lucid dream. It's like pulling a veil from my eyes, and everything seems more real than they can possibly be in life. It's a reality not distorted by the imperfection of out sensory organs, simply the reality the way the mind envisions it. And it's not just senses, emotions are exaggerated. I still get carried away and end up waking up, though.
