      My first LD!!!!!!!!!!!!! (please read)

For the past few weeks I have been writing AWAKE on my hand, last night i had a dream that i lived in my old house again. I found my mum and asked her what was going on, she said everything was fine. I left the room and looked at my hand which had written on it AW_ _KE. I was like holy shit! when i realised i was dreaming i was overwhelmed and fell over, i didnt want to lose lucidity and luckily didnt. Everything seemed so realistic. during the dream i did various things such as, change weather/time of day, make people disappear, tried once to fly and had a def jam vendetta style fight. It seemed to last a while, certainly longer than 5-10mins. it all began to fade when my friend began to play the guitar (in my dream). it was pretty awesome. i wanted to find my group of friends at school (in the dream) as i couldnt make them appear but i didnt find them. when i did wake up i couldnt belive what had happened.

just one question though, in an LD can you walk around as if in real life or do you tell yourself you want to go somewhere and you just move in the dream without lifting your legs on purpose?

      Re: My first LD!

that's nice. you seem to have gotten alot further than most people, they usually wake up several seconds after they become lucid...well congradulations, you're now a Lucid Dreamer.

you can do whatever you want. I usually just walk. it may not seem like you're really walking though, but then again, exactly how concious are you of your walking during waking life? chances are...not very. you just GO. that's really what it's all about, I think so anyway...is awareness. the more aware you are during the day the more aware you'll be in your dreams. work on it, yes?

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.

You don't have to walk, you can just spin in a circle to transport to a new location...

i myself thought it was a bit good for my first LD being as everyone else seems to fade away in a matter of seconds when they first try one

      That's so awesome! Congrats!!!

I actually wrote "RC" on my hand, hoping it would help me to remember to perform reality checks throughtout the waking day. But perhaps I should try your technique and write "awake" or "lucid" and see what happens.

      Anyway, BRAVO to you!
