Smile Lucid with NO technique. (kinda long)

So when I started with lucid dreaming it was all I could think about. For a week I stopped smoking pot so I could have dreams (then started up gradually again). During that period I got about 7 lucid dreams as you can see in my sig. School started again so I had other things to think about and I started losing interest. Finally I was completely off the topic of trying to lucid dream.

Now for my favorite part! The lucids that I got during the period I was trying hard were okay but nothing great. I've been smoking pot regularly again and just about every night before I go to bed so I fall asleep fast and wake up early for school. Last night I had attempted no technique to help myself induce a lucid dream. I woke up around 3:00 AM because I was experiencing some asthma which happens from time to time. I couldn't find my inhaler so I tried to fall back asleep but couldn't and was awake until 3:30 AM when I searched harder and found it. I used my inhaler and went straight back to bed feeling unusually comfortable. I fell back asleep fast and began to dream. I had a couple dreams which are very vague now and I would wake up after each one finished. This happened twice. After waking from a dream the second time I saw that I had about 1 more hour left of sleep (I have to get up at 6:00 AM). As I was going back to sleep I remember thinking for a moment about how it would be nice to have a lucid dream for the last hour of sleep.

It was the best lucid of my life! It felt like it was at least 30 minutes long and I didn't wake until the very end. I had some good lucid sex. Flew around. Blew stuff up. Smoked pot (heh). Used telekinesis. And had tons of fun! I was back in my room in the dream making secret passages appear by pressing things hanging on my walls like buttons when I realized I need to take a piss....bad..I lied down on my bed and closed my eyes and rolled over and I got the feeling where you feel your real body touching your sheets. I went to the bathroom and right when I was about to piss I realized I was still in my bed! It was a false awakening!

So overall that was the best lucid I've ever had and I had done no technique and barely anything to obtain it. I even smoked some pot before bed and still had dreams! Maybe it will become a natural thing now..

      Hey there,

Congratulations. Awakenings during the night really help inducing lucid dreaming, simply be because you tend to sleep less deep (which seems to correspond to your mind remaining closer to consciousness). That's why so many techniques you see will stress waking up after 4-6 hours of sleep, before trying them.

Oftentimes, just having lucid dreaming on your mind a lot combined with these type of nightly awakenings can be enough to trigger lucidity, even without practicing any of the well known techniques.

Red River is right, I think waking up in the middle of the night then becoming fully awake is a great way to get a LD.

It's how I got my first and second LD.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.
