Talking FINALLY!! SUCESS!! My first LD.

Well, after a while I was beginning to give up, I had lost hope and thought I just wasn't cut out for lucid dreaming. Then 2 days ago my computer caught a serious virus and wouldn't turn on, which is the reason why I haven't been on lately. During this time I only had my failures to think about.

I stopped writing in my dream journal, and stopped doing WBTB. But 2 days ago I woke up at 6AM because my cats were fighting. That incident brought me to full wakefulness, and took me a while to go back to sleep. But when I finally did fall asleep, I had a DILD!!. I'm not going to explain the contents of the dream because then this post would be too long, but I became lucid out of nowhere, no dream sign, no cue. The dream ended like 10 minutes later.

The day after I slept through the whole night. But then today, this morning, I once again woke up at 6AM to close the door for my dad cause he was late for work.....this brought me to full wakefulness again. It took me a while to fall asleep again, but when I did, I had a DILD. I was in school and became lucid.....I'm going to post another topic with the details of both dreams inside.

Basically, what I've noticed is that on both occasions, I woke up at 6AM, was fully awake, and didn't think about lucid dreaming at all while returning to sleep. I just kept thinking about how I was playing Gears of War and Halo 2 online, LOL.

Well what else can I say? I'm extremely happy now and confident that LD's will become more frequent now. I think all I have to do is do a brief WBTB, but I have to be fully awake, then return to sleep. I'M SO HAPPY!!
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

      Hey there,

      Congratulations! It's a great feeling isn't it

Oftentimes 'letting go' for a little while relieves the stress of 'wanting to lucid dream' enough for your mind to actually do it. And ofcourse waking up in the middle of the night always increases your chances of succes, which is why so many techniques focus on this part.

Looking forward to hearing more succes stories from you
