      First LD?

Hey there. I've been practicing my dream recall for about two weeks now, and there's only been two nights (where I also spelt in a different bed) that I couldn't remember my dreams, but the other night, as I was falling asleep, I was thinking about SP, and even as I knew I was awake, I was checking to see if I was dreaming quite often, and then somehow I got into this weird stage where I was still laying in bed, and I thought that I was awake ( I still don't even know if I was concious or not), but my body was shaking violently, and I couldn't make it stop, and I was terrified! Then, it eventually passed, and I ran out into the hall (At this point I know I was dreaming), and my supervisor from work was tere, and I started telling her about how terrible my experience was, and then she was like, "Mitchell, I think you're dreaming...", and then it hit me, and I knew I was asleep, and I ran outside, concious of the fact that I was dreaming the whole time, and there was people outside, and I was doing things like moving stuff with my mind. Anyway, I have a couple of questions to anyone who has an answer.

Is it normal to have to use A LOT of focus to do things that would be out of the ordinary in reality in dreams? I had to focus indredibly hard to make a cassette player in my dream jump off the ground and hover for a split second before I dropped it.

Is there any explanation to that shaking violently thing? Just wondering...

      Hey there,

      Congratulations on your first LD!

The "Shaking thing" sounds like its what others call Vibrations. Its something that a lot of people experience when the body is falling asleep. Some experience it as a slight rocking, others as a buzzing, others as shaking. Myself, I still have it but I had it very strongly when I was a kid. I used to imagine my bed taking off and flying over loads of natural landscapes while it happened, as the vibrations were quite quite strong.

In your case, you were likely just at the edge of wakefullness and dreaming, or you were dreaming but so lightly that physical sensations still managed to reach you in your dreams. That'd be my guess.

On the topic of dreamcontrol and manipulation. its different for everyone. Some people have to focus, for some others it's more natural like breathing, some people can do telekinese but can't fly, others can fly but can't do telekinese. Some people can do anything they want, others have problems doing even basic manipulations. It all depends.

What it depends on, is largely your own worries, fears, expectations, confidence and believe. If you really believe you can do it, likely it will happen. If you worry or fear you can't do it, likely it won't happen. Additionally, your consciousness is trained to 'expect certain things', and 'totally reject certain other things', so there's often an element of 'suspension of disbelief' in it as well. Making a dragon appear out of nowhere right in front of you would be harder then say making a postman come up to you with a package in which you find a brand new cd player. The first is going to require a lot more 'suspension of disbelief' then the second.

But still, theoretically, anything is possible and anything can be done. The trick is in finding out what works for you, and how to improve what doesn't. And it's basically a life long learning process

      Hope that helps,

      -Redrivertears-
