      Dumb dream characters

This is starting to get fun. I have been starting to have quite a few lucids lately from simply WBTB. I still cannot control the scenes however, only what I do.

I just had a lucid this morning where these few guys were after me, although I can't remember why. I do remember the following well. For some reason, they all were carrying large throwing knives as weapons instead of guns.

Right as they were about to discover me crouched down behind a large boulder, I felt that I was in a dream. I did a nose check and became lucid. I stood up and came out from behind the rock to view the guys with the knives. I remember almost losing lucidity briefly right here, but then I began telling myself that "you know this is a dream".

At this moment, the characters suddenly lost all emotion. I came out from behind the rock, and the guys were basically froze still, standing there staring at me. They didn't talk or say anything. I walked up to them, and they did not move, they just stared at me.

It was kind of wierd actually. It was like the lifeblood of the characters drained when I became lucid; their roles in the dreamworld became non-existant.

Wow... That's pretty crazy... Half of the lucids I've had (i've only had four, mind you) have been with vicious characters chasing me. But when I get lucid I always think of my lucidity as a way to get away from them and I've never tried just turning around and looking them in the eye.

I think I might try that sometime...

Now that is different! I wonder if you could have simply "willed" them back to life?

Haha, awesome. I've had quite a few really stupid DC's before... sometimes they forget to open doors and just walk right into them, dead giveaway lol...

Could it be that you're expecting them not to do anything? I mean, since you were lucid you expected to be in control of the dream. Saying like "this is only a dream" or "I can control it" often means you don't expect your DC's to act normal. Did you actually expect them to throw knives at you?

Actually before I ran and hid behind a boulder, one had already thrown a knife at me. I remember it coming through the air whirling, but kind of like a video game in that the knife went straight and somewhat slow right on past me.

I'm not sure if I did not expect them to throw the knives anymore when I became lucid, I simply became lucid and expected the dream to play out. It's just the way the dream played out was somewhat wierd - like my mind just gave up trying to task me with anything.

For some reason, when I try to synthsize a scene, I wake up. Maybe I am trying to concentrate too hard? I cannot summon things like I did in my first lucid dream. The only difference is my lucids now are more vivid than my first one or two. I'll have to work on that aspect of it.
