      New Member - 2 old Classic LD's

I just joined the forums today. Thought I'd share a couple of my older LD's. I'm practicing again (after many years of inactivity) and can't wait to try some of the newer techniques I found here. Particularly the nose-holding reality check which I think will be perfect for me since I won't have to go looking for a body of water like I often used to.

      1) I was in a room with no furniture, doors, or windows when I became lucid. The walls were painted with brightly colored diagonal lines and patterns. So I'm thinking to myself, "This is stupid. I'm dreaming but I can't do anything interesting because I'm in this dumb room with no way out. Ok, I can't walk out, so I'll have to think my way out." [I didn't know anything about dream spinning at the time.] So I closed my eyes and just thought about being anywhere else but that room. [That was my first mistake.] I opened my eyes and was in a pre-historic jungle. Tall trees were all around me with no sign of civilization. It could have been interesting, except that a very large dinosaur resembling a Tryannosaurus was heading right for me. I closed my eyes again and thought "Back to the room; back to the room . . .". Breathing heavy, I found myself right back in the same room. I thought "Well, if I can't have any fun, I might as well just wake up." [This was a mistake I won't make again.] So, I woke up [FA] in my room, but the room was quite a bit larger than normal. My mother was sitting on the other side of the room sewing. There were large wood and glass doors leading outside [also not normal. At this point I could have really used a portable RC.] I got up and looked around the room. I spoke to my mother [but don't remember what we said.] At this point I was convinced I really did wake up. So I went outside and everything seemed normal. That's when the zombies started coming over a hill toward me and the house. And I said "damn, I haven't woken up yet." The dream faded as I ran back to the house.

The next one is old, but a great example of double-world awareness. This one was from way back in 10th grade. (I think I was successful at describing it with a PG rating)

      2) I was getting on the school bus. A girl that I liked from my class, but still didn't really know that well, was already sitting down next to the window. I sat down next to her. At this point I was aware that I was dreaming, and I went into a lengthy rationalization with myself. It was as though the dream version of myself was having a discussion with the real me. [Me, dream version:] "Ok, I'm dreaming, so I can kiss her or do anything I want, right?". [Reply:] "Yeah, but what if the real version of her knows what you did?" [Me:] "I don't think that's possible." So I lean over and kiss her on the cheek. It was astonishingly real. It didn't evoke much of a response from her, so I reasoned that the dream version of her didn't have much control here. Then another question creeps in: "What if she's having this dream at the same time?" [Me:] "I still don't think it's possible for this dream version of her to let the real her know what happened." So I ask her, "Are you going to be able to tell the real you what's happening here?" She doesn't respond. So I reach over and cup her through her shirt. This time she looks at me, but still allows it without much of a response.
[A moment after that my alarm went off - faaaaaaade. Throughout the dream, the sense of logic, heat, texture, and minute pressure differences was so exceptionally real that I was honestly relieved when I didn't get slapped later that day.]

      Welcome!

Very nice LD's! I wish I could have LD's at will. I am waiting to have my first LD yet, no luck yet but I am going to try a WILD tonight. I hope you will regain the skill of Lucid Dreaming!

Thanks. I'm hoping it comes back quickly. After starting a new journal and keeping it nearby, I was able to recall 3 dreams the 2nd night - 2 in detail and 1 fragment which came to me later in the day. Good luck with your efforts.
