      My First Lucid Moment?!

I think last night I had my first LD moment, but I got excited and left it, heres how it went:

I went to bed at about 10, tried to go at 9 but I couldn't, woke up at 3:00, went to the bathroom got back in bed. Deep breathed 300 breaths (in and out is one) then tried to WILD. It didn't worked so I thought I'll try tomorrow, I flopped on my side and tried to sleep, about 30 seconds later I felt an amazing warm sensation and I started to shake or vibrate rapidly (thats how it felt) then my vision went all black and I thought I was flying or falling or something because I felt wind going past me but I still couldn't make anything out. Then I woke up from excitement. I wrote in my dream journal then went to bed. All I had written was "Flying" "Clouds" and "Shake"... Was this really a WILD? I was still awake and conscious when it began, I think, and this is only my third day trying to LD.

I'll be back when I return from school, bye!

Sounds like a WILD. Maybe not a complete one, but you are probably close to getting them.

I feel so dumb! I must confess, I wasn't really as excited as I was scared, for some reason I was scared out of my mind and I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't so I panicked, I guess thats when I left it. Can't wait to retry it tonight so I don't get so scared. Thanks for the replies, guys.

Edit: Tried again tonight using the same method but I was so tired I couldn't count all the way to 300 breaths so I tried when I got to like 120 and I feel asleep trying... What a waste of a night. Now I feel super dumb that I wasted my first, and possibly my only for a while, experience.

yeah, that was the onset of sleep paralysis you were feeling. next time that happens, try "rolling out of bed." that always helps me. if i feel any sensation when i "roll off the edge," then i know i'm not lucid. but if i feel nothing, then i know i'm lucid and the adventure begins right away. for me, this works every single time. and no, i've never actually rolled off my bed and hurt myself.

No, no, no. That's not a waste of a night. Never think of it like that.

"If you fail a WILD, make a DILD!" That's my motto. If you spend 120 breaths on the intention of becoming lucid, chances are you will become lucid, even if it's by a different method. Be an optimist. Lucidity is 100% mental, you know.

Also, you are incredibly lucky. I find it very hard to WILD, and I've been trying for nearly a year! Keep going!
