      Post Freaky first time

I have just woken up from a series of lucid dreams.

I didnt really know about them and google it after waking up (wrote down dream first in case I forgot) and so found this forum.

Apologies for rambling, this is my record - just in case someone is interested.

I was at times aware that I was dreaming. I was trying to wake up. Several times I opened one eyelid, saw my room and struggled to get up, but I couldn’t move. I tried to move my hand in front of my eye and completely thought I was doing it but I couldn’t see it there. I tried to shout and heard a struggled murmur but have no way to know if I really made a sound. I tried hitting myself to move or something and I thought I was doing it but my view did not change. Panic! I thought I’d had a stroke or something. Or hit by a car and was really unconscious in hospital.

Here is how it happened. I think the rough order is right.

Went to bed at around 2am after drinking at a pub with friends.

Woke at 9.30am went to the toilet and got a glass of water. At this point nothing was ‘wrong’. Had a bit of a headache and was tired so I thought I’d go back to bed. I know this was real as the glass of water was there when I woke up.

Segway over leafs (knew must be dreaming)
I was walking over rubbish on the ground outside somewhere. Then I had a brush and was sweeping it. I stepped on the brush and it moved around like I imagine a Segway would – backwards, forward, reverse spins. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Segway I laughed and thought this was ridiculous and I knew I must be dreaming. Didn’t get round to testing this though.

      Kids playing football
I seemed to be aware of the Segway incident as a past event, but didn’t think about still being dreaming. I was lying on the grass relaxing in a garden, passively watching kids kicking a football about in the next garden.

      Bike in Old Street
I was in my childhood home (although I was a little older) and was given a chore to do and thought screw it – I’m going for a cycle. It was great – cycling fast downhill. The streets were accurate. Towards the bottom of the road I realised I didn’t have breaks (as I don’t on my current bike...). People I knew saw me. I steered towards some bushes and jumped off. I was quite surprised it didn’t hurt. I got back on the bike and cycled home. The first part was easy and I was not aware of physically struggling uphill at all, but on the steeper portion the bike just stopped so I started walking with the bike. Fade out…

      Bears eating cows

I was walking down an old country track road with a friend, there are woods to one side. I don’t know if this place is real but I have dreamt about it before. I remember (?) that something (opening an eye but not being able to move?) was wrong. We hear wolves and become anxious (I have never had an hostile animal encounter in my life!). We are glad to see a farmer (straw hat... also Mexican?) up ahead leading several cows – can show us to safety. Up ahead there are two Grizzly Bears and I am crapping myself. Farmer seems nonchalant but signals to us to stay quiet and keep moving. A Grizzly bites into a cow – which doesn’t react. I realise I better put my mobile on silent mode, in case someone phones and it startles the bear… We go a little deeper into the woods and there are some market stalls and people. I meet someone…

      ‘Wake’ in my room I

I was in my room lying on my bed. I was reading graffiti on the wall from the previous owner that I hadn’t noticed before (and of course is not actually there!).

      Girl washing pool
I was in a different garden but again lying on the grass. A hot ginger haired girl I don’t know is cleaning the inflatable pool (why??) in the next garden.

‘Wake’ in my room II (knew must be dreaming – but desperate to wake)
I ‘awoke’ in my room. I was aware that I was probably dreaming but also somehow panicked with what may really be going on. I think this was after opening an eye but not being able to move. I got up and looked in a steamed up (why?) mirror and decided to test the ‘dream rules’. I tried to dream myself being blue and wiped the mirror. I looked as normal. I thought ‘didn’t I have more stubble?’ And it was there. It didn’t suddenly appear, but it was as if I wasn’t looking closely enough before. I search my flat for clues. My sitting room is huge and different and there is a tear in the wall but I don’t seem to notice. I do however notice my computer is slightly different and despair that I am trapped in a dream and am truly scared for what is really going on.

‘Wake’ in my room III (knew must be dreaming )

I ‘awoke’ in my room again. Notice the non-real computer so know I am dreaming. I am concerned about what is really going on but think I may as well try to see what I can do in this dream. Dream then ends…

I have a sharp intake of breath and open my eyes. I am in my bed again. I feel extremely tired but am unsure of what is going on and am desperate to be really awake. Lie in bed for a few minutes looking round the room. All is ok - I can move fine, see fine and notice the time if 11.30am. I get up and write this…

I realise now that this was a lucid dream and am a little disappointed I didn’t take more advantage and fly around as Superman or something. I was just incapacitated with fear after opening an eyelid but not being able to actually move. So also pretty glad I am not actually in a coma

Now I know - next time I'll try Superman

welcome to the forum, I'm always amazed when people have never heard of lucid dreams, I'm had them as far back as I can remember. only now though I've realised I can will myself into them. but yea try clairity's wild technique. really to me I'd rather be dreaming then awake, much more fun. but yes enough of my ramblings, if u need help or anything pm me and I'll try to point u in the right direction as best I can.
