Thread: My sortof LD experience

So after doing reality checks during the day for only one day since finding this website, i took some valerian root and went to bed. I had a pretty long normal dream but then for some reason it was like somthing insid of me was telling me to look at my hands. I did and there were only like 4 fingers i think and they were colored like a fake tan color an dalmost looked like a troll's hand or something. So right then i was loike sweet! im dreaming! and then i woke up from excitment. First of all why did I just want to look at my hands for no aparent reason? Also, (I know its off topic), If you can tell yourself to do realty checks in your dream, aren't you already lucid since you told yourself to look at your hands or pinch your nose?
