      Possible first LD?

      Quick question.

I dont know much about lucid dreaming, but enough so that it can happen.

      So

      *right before going to sleep*
On another forum-wrote a question, and went to bed.

      zzzzz

I was dreaming i got lots of answers, then I was thinking, 'Is this is possible??', it was hundreds. Suddenly I was thinking wow, this as to be a dream, before I have never been sure. But this time I was really sure, I was even aware about my surroundings in bed by then(the dream had twindled away), and thinking, 'careful so I dont wake up'....Then the next idea popped into my head, to try to leave my body(as i've been thinking about this before when awake)when I now finally had a chance. So I tried to go straight up, with all I had. Then the strange thing happened, it worked but i felt hard shacking going trough my body, and suddenly i didnt feel my body, I was going straight up with incredible speed, towards something blue(I didnt have any destination, just wanted to leave the body), then it faded away, and i could sense my surroundings again. Slowly drifting towards deeper sleep. Not sure if I really woke up.

So can someone explain to me, was this a lucid dream? or just a dream in a dream? What was the shaking about?
'have decided to read up more about this, only wanted to get this question of my chest*
      Hi,btw

welcome to dv and yes it sounds like a lucid dream. any dream that you know you are dreaming while you are dreaming is a lucid dream.

Thanks, more info would be appreciated. Is the body shaking normal, did it really happen. For me, what happends just before I wake up and after is usually mised. Reality doesnt usually kick in before the breakfest table.

Yup, that's usually attributed to the SP (sleep paralysis) procedure. This is your mind shutting down your body's ability to move. I believe it's more of a sensation that you're experiencing rather than physically shaking. Some feel it as a vibration or tingling.

Feeling this sensation is a welcome sign that you're on the threshold between wake and dreaming.

Great, yeah, that could be it. I've had sleep paralyzes several times before. I didnt like those, Slowly waking up, sensing there is something wrong in my room, but unable to move my body, for a long time, maybe 10 minutes, feeling fully awake. In the end I manage to move a finger. First time it really freaked me up. Thats the reason I started searching for dreams, and came here.

But this sensation, as you accurately described above was different. The lucid experience was very short, the flight up towards the blue. I was also somewhat frighten by the somewhat violent reaction my body went trough when I reached straight up. But I was able to move my body at once when I returned. So this was different the SP i described above.

Well I guess I have to read up about this.

I see this post should be posted in LD experiences, maybe a mod would like to move it?
