Also its important to spend that time awake doing dream orientated activities. I like to wake up and immediately write down in my dream journal what has happened, and spend my time reading my journal, and maybe reading over induction techniques. And when I go to sleep, I either think of my last dream, or just imagine walking around a dreamscape, and constantly reinforcing the thought "I am dreaming. I am having a lucid dream! I am dreaming" Almsot all of the time, If I do all of this, I enter a dream lucidly(WILD) or get lucid very soon after.
