      World of Warcraft/Ludid Dreaming

For all you mindless slaves to Blizzard out there, this post should jar some ideas for especially lucid dreams...

Since Warcraft is a fully realized world (Hence the infamous immersiveness of the game) It makes for perfect lucid dream topics as, unlike movies, you literally know the lay of the land/overall feel.

      Some interesting places to visit:

      Silvermoon.
Even without lucidity, I was captured by this city. I strained to look higher, bending my head and looking up at the screen to catch glimpses of the tall spires... A great choice for starters, in my opinion.

PS: Outside the city is even better.

      Stormwind.
      A classic.

      Thunder Bluff
Probably my second favorite city in the game. Don't look down.

      Dun Morogh
A great relaxer, easy to maintain the dream feeling the cold, the snow, the wind, the sounds...

      Now for some other ideas:

For all you RP'ers out there, you should fit in nicely with lucids.

For you slaughter hungry PvPers, try fighting with all your strength/mana, and be sure to "feel" the fireball in the palm of your hand, the chain lightning coursing through you...

Just some ideas... If you are not a Warcraft player, try applying this to those unreachable places... (The Citadel for Mass Effect, Star Wars people, wherever you would go...)

Yes, I know this is the general idea behind lucids, but it is suprising how many people overlook fully created/ready enviroments.

Woot woot! Very nice idea, imagine going to UC... The stench of the sewers would increase the realism there. Wow... Imagine flying from flight path to flight path... Wooow. lol.

I've always wanted to be a tauren.

Lets call it... World of Dreamcraft!

Not Warcraft, but I've had a few Starcraft dreams recently.

I think it is great to explore game worlds in your dreams.

Wow... Imagine flying from flight path to flight path... Wooow. lol.
      Now that would be cool!

It'd also be fun to either single handedly take down a boss or conjure up a group in the dream and run a brand new instance entirely made up by your mind.

Ah, what fun my days of WOW were... but I'm now a fully recovered addict and have managed to stay clean for a year or so

Ah, I don't play WoW, tho I have friends who do, and I haven't had the funds to try the game yet myself. I do, however, play ffxi and in the recent past I've done a tad of lucid dreaming, where I didn't like the way a dream was going, so changed the story.

Lucid dreaming is not something I ever tried to achieve tho...I've always been a bit of a daydreamer and am an artist, so I just kinda fell into the habit I guess.

I just think it's kind of funny tho, lately, because I have been playing ffxi quite a bit, and dreaming that I continue to play the game as well. These dreams are so vivid, that at the time I actually feel like I am still playing the game, and not sleeping. I even am able to read the chat messages very easily, lol. And I've noticed that lucid dreams seem to have a bit more clarity than normal dreams for me, which also makes them seem a tad more real, and yet I easily notice where something doesn't work true to reality in these dreams.

However, I had a funny experience last night, where I dreamed I was partying with some friends from my linkshell, and what clued me into the fact that this was a dream, I think was that it was a bit more chaotic than ffxi. Things were happening a bit too randomly and my party was getting KOed. Well, I decided I didn't want my party and me to be KOed. Nope, KOed won't do. Time to restore the hp...and not talking about doing it with a spell like Cure or anything. I just didn't want my party to be KOed, so decided, I'm gonna put back that hp (*poof* hp restored with a thought) and keep playing the game, lol. For the record, I repeated this action more than once in the dream.

My friend Mike who used to play ffxi and now is playing WoW said, if only the ffxi game were that easy. ^^

Ah, but nope, I don't try to lucid dream...tho I have noticed I seem to lucid dream a bit more lately.

Edited for typos and additional thoughts. =)

I've always had a thing for zangarmarsh. There's a dream in my journal called The Docks, its colour scheme was no doubt inspired by the zangarmarsh zone- vivid blues with fiery orange lights. Thunderbluff would be v. cool indeed, I also imagine ironforge to be fun to explore (i played horde so i didnt much get to explore IF).

      Peace.

I've never really had any desire to visit any of the places in WoW. They are a bit too cartoony for my tastes and therefore I don't really find them to be "beautiful". Obviously I like some zones better than others (Darnassus still I think is the nicest) but I can't imagine myself going there or being a part of the world. The cartoony graphics of WoW is probably why I never really felt all that immersed.

On the other hand, there are some absolutely gorgeous zones in EQII that I think I'll try to visit in an LD
