      Lucid Streaks

Before February, I got lucid on an average of about once every two weeks (with most being toward when I first started trying). Life got busy, I took a break from all techniques, and my only lucid episodes were rare and brief. A few weeks ago, I picked up Creative Dreaming by Patricia Garfield, and an amazing thing happened - I've been getting lucid just about every night since finishing it.

The funny thing is, I haven't really change my habits. I sleep irregularly, rarely think about lucidity, and haven't been DJ-ing or doing induction techniques. Every so often I'll do a nose-plug reality check if it crosses my mind, which occurs about once a day at the most. But lucidity keeps coming, and sometimes it's a struggle to think up new things to do in my LDs. Has this happened to anyone else? Spontaneous lucid streaks?

The book didn't really have anything on LDs that I hadn't heard before, so I don't think it was that.

Yeah, I've missed DV. I went to Italy in December, met people, came back with a social life or something . . . but I snapped out of it. It's good to be back.

I used to smoke pot quite a bit(which doesnt help in dreaming)but since I've stopped I've been lucidly dreaming pretty good again. More like how I did when I was younger. I'm having a streak right now and I'm onto day 8. So 8 lucid nights in a row(not much but its a start). And I havent really been trying that much either. I think about it alittle during the day, and when I go to bed I think that I would like to keep my streak going.. which I guess is helping. Funny thing for me though is I keep finding myself naked in pretty much every lucid dream. I dont think I've had one where I wasnt completely naked. Which is trippy but I'm ok with it.. I dont care at all. Sometimes thats whats even been sending me lucid.. I find myself suddenly with no clothes and think wtf?!

I had a cool one the other night(to keep it short)where I told a DC that he was dreaming and asked him to do an impossible action. And he made his finger go red and then a lazer came out of it, and he started to target me with it(like a gun). When he did that I laughed and turned myself into a puff of black smoke and kept laughing at him. It was like my counter move. Then I reformed and did some other stuff. It was pretty cool.

Maybe it's just taking a break from dreaming, then getting back into. Like reading the book or soemthing.

      Still going on?

I wish! I say enjoy it and here's a thread of things you can do while lucid if you need help thinking of new things: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=3702

Kazahel - I have that same dreamsign (being naked). I don't know why that keeps happening but it seems that I'm at least partially unclothed in most of my dreams. I've been told that it symbolizes feeling vulnerable/unprepared/etc. Makes sense.

Stephen - Yep, it's still going on. WILDed last night.

Clairity - Thanks for the link and welcome. What I'm working on right now is changing the environment/objects/cast in my lucid dreams by sheer force of will. That is, not having to go through doors/mirrors to get places, not "calling" people in order to get them to show up, etc. But just thinking it and there it is - thereby maximizing my dream time. Good results so far.

I am a natural lucid dreamer and before this year I havent been lucid since I was around 10...That's almost 10 years ago. My lucids all turned to nightmares. I put dreaming out of my mind to the point where I was afraid of them. Then I stumbled upon Idoser which told me what a lucid dream was. I googled it and found this site. Who knew I could stop nightmares. Anywho, after 10 years of not even remembering a single dream, I started lucid dreaming again without using any techniques. I haven't been able to do it as consistent as you though.

I think being lucid every night is a technique within itself. During the day, you don't question your reality as much because you are certain it will happen. I have found a personal method to guarantee a lucid dream the night after. During the following day, I don't even waste my time (I know it takes no time) with reality checks, because I so certain that I will be lucid that night because so far, my method has a 100% success rate. Reality checks just seem redundant. This is sort of a difficult state of mind to achieve though. In order to think like this, you would have to trick your mind into believing it, but In your case, no tricks are necessary.

Once upon a time a disciple went to his guru and asked him, 'Guru, what is life?' To which the guru replies, after much thinking, 'My Son, life is like a fountain.' The disciple is outraged. 'Is that the best you can do? Is that what you call wisdom?' 'All right,' says the guru; 'don't get excited. So maybe it's not like a fountain.'
