My First Lucid Dream - Help?

Hi, i recently heard of Lucid Dreaming through a friend of mine and was instantly obsessed with the concept of it and have been studying it for the past week. I started my Dream Journal and Routine Reality Checks on the 23rd of July, 7 days later (today) i had my very first lucid dream (DILD/DEILD, i can't be certain)

      ---------------------

Here is a copy of my Digital Dream Journal Entry:

I can’t even remember how I realized I was in a dream, but I remember saying ‘This is just a dream, and then I saw myself in my bed (Maybe awake) straight away I started thinking about the jumping the fence and running down the road technique and I could feel myself being pulled towards the bottom of my bed and slowly down. Next thing I knew I saw a clown saying “very sleepy”, I false awoke in my bed and reality tested with the nose hold, I was dreaming. I got up but the gravity was crazy, it wanted to keep me in bed, there was a fan which wasn’t there in reality, I eventually made my way into the hallway and I jumped (wanted to fly) and I just sorta jumped high and went through the roof into the attic and came back down. Then I flicked my right hand and made an energy ball, flicked my left and made a fireball (Just like in charmed). I was in full control all up until this point (besides the gravity thing) and then all of a sudden man came running towards me (don’t know who) and I kept throwing energy and fireballs at him while running down my hallway, for some reason it occurred to me he was an attacker and he would obviously have a knife so all of a sudden a fork (Why not a knife/gun?) spawned in his hands and he started swinging it at me, I grabbed it and poked his eye while he continued to swing it at me, he didn’t die.
At this point I was getting scared and false awakened again but in between the lucidness and false awaken I saw the clown saying the same thing. I was pretty freaked out and wanted to wake up so I just started screaming it in my head really fast as I false awakened, then I woke up.

NOTE: When I woke up I was in a pool of sweat, maybe this is the reason I included the fan in my lucid dream? There was no heater or electric blanket on.

      -------------------------

Any idea why my first lucid dream included someone who was trying to kill me and a random clown telling me i was 'very sleepy' in between false awakenings? (I hate clowns, scary sons of *****).

I feel for my first LD i did pretty well with controlling things considering it had only been a week, overall the LD went for around One minute or so before i woke myself up, i regretted it the second i was concious.

Any suggestions to help get rid of this guy would be appreciated, and any help with the clown would be great to =P

      Thanks!

I guess a normal human wouldn't die either if you poke their eye with a fork. It would hurt like hell and they would scream, but dieing? Nah.

Maybe try more drastic measures. You said something about energyballs and fireballs in your hand, why not try burning that guy or whatever you imagine.

I would probably do that or summon a giant sword and cutting him into piecing. You could also just try to shoot him (which I think is boring, but if you like it). If you cann call energyballs and fireballs, a gun shouldn't be a problem I guess

If it happens again, i'll be sure to try it again, but in that LD i was throwing Fireballs/Energyballs at him and they didn't phase him at all. And i realise th fork wouldn't kill him, but once again, that didn't even phase him.

Thanks for the reply none the less =]

It just sounds to me like you were very nervous about having your first lucid, and that being unsure and thinking scary thoughts summoned scary things. A lot of the time in my dreams, I remember something that occurred earlier in the dream and it repeats itself, simply because I remembered it while dreaming. Sounds like that's what happened with the clown

My first lucid ended up as a horrible nightmare, too, when I realized that whatever I thought of would appear and that I'd better not think of anything scary. As soon as I realized this I started to worry and BAM! instant nightmare. I have since overcome that and learned to revel in lucids with confidence. Just keep up your practice, and in time I think you will become more confident with the experience and your worries will cease to invade your dreams

It does sound like your dream control was excellent. I'd suggest next time attempting to talk to these dream characters, if they show themselves again. I once had a lucid where a man was chasing me through my backyard. I turned around and started chatting with him instead of running away, and he said he wanted to interrogate me. I told him I'd answer any questions he had if he gave me some advice on LDs, and so he invited me to lunch. Go figure. Try to communicate and rationalize with your DCs, and see them as friendly. Also, if scary things happen in a lucid dream just keep ignoring them. Once you are lucid keep repeating to yourself that nothing can hurt you, and focus on other things. Things only exist in dreams if you pay attention to them. You have to clear your thoughts, and just focus on having a good time

Thanks heaps for the advice, what you said makes a lot of sense and i'll be sure to take it all onboard =]

Hopefully next time i'll be able to keep myself in the LD rather than wanting to wake up, i regret that so much lol.
