So I had two Lucid Dreams last night...

Ever since ive read books ive become fascinated with Lucid Dreaming, I dont get them often, maybe once every other month, but last night I had two.

The first one, I cant remember much before the point of when i became aware, but i remember i was going to the bathroom when a kitten started to crawl up my leg, I was holding a green piece of paper in my had with text on it so i read it. It said "You are dreaming." I didn't believe it at first so i looked away then looked back and the text was gone, so i knew for a fact I was dreaming at that point in time. Like every guy I had desires that i wanted to fulfill, and i know to make something happen, you have to expect it to happen. So I walked into the bathroom again and what do you know, the girl of my dreams was there. But she was resisting me because people were at the house and responded by saying it was only a dream, I woke up shortly after that, but i wasnt really awake.

It was morning, about 9am and my buddy and i were sitting on my bed talking, before we get to our morning routines...and i said jokingly, "heh, maybe I'm dreaming right now." He laughed and i went to check the clock, the date on the clock said March 9th, and i said "Shawn is this right?" He got over and looked at it and said "No, its March 3rd," I responded "So am i dreaming"...he looks at me and says yes. So i get really excited again and i go outside. I conjured up a lighting storm out in the distance then i looked up into the sky. I threw one arm in the air like a superhero and took off soaring above the house. then for somereason i forgot how to fly and fell down on top of some powerlines and got zapped by them. shortly after that i woke up...

How do you gain even more control of your dreams, its like sometimes even when you know you are dreaming you forget that you can do anything like make people disappear, how do you take further control besides just expecting things to happen?

Go into the dream knowing exactly what you want to do and how you will do it. Going in with a basic game plan can make a world of difference.

Congrats on your LDs.. your subconscious was really helping you get lucid what with the piece of paper that said that you were dreaming and the DC who confirmed that you were!

      Control will come with experience.

For those new to lucid dreaming, I advise that you don't try to set the lucid world on fire your first few dreams.. don't try to do too many tricks, summon people, etc. Simply go with the flow and take it all in. Get used to what being lucid FEELS like so you can ground yourself in your dreams.. that's when the tricks/stunts can happen.

Your first few dreams simply act like a tourist in a new place.. go sightseeing and take in all the different colors and sounds. You may try to increase your vividness by confidently declaring "increase lucidity" or "clarity now" but that would be the extent of control I would recommend for struggling dreamers.

I still have to remind myself the moment I become lucid to get "grounded" in my dream (i.e., make it as lucid as it could be) instead of immediately racing to do something before I lose lucidity.

One of the tricks I use to "ground" myself is to "touch" things. By touching.. I mean really "feeling" them. Get into how they feel.. are they hot, cold, smooth, rough, etc. (this also helps me remain in the dream longer).

Also, there is no "try" when you're lucid.. only "do". You must KNOW that there is nothing you can't have nor perform while in your dream.

Just remember that "the deeper the level of lucidity.. the better your lucid experience should be".

The wierd thing about it though is that I haven't practiced Lucid Dreaming in about 3 months. I still have yet to buy a digital watch, and i have tried WILD before. Wild induces odd sensations for me sometimes when i try it tho, when i feel myself becoming closer to entering the dream world my body might be tingling, or it may feel as if my breathing has stopped, but i know im still breathing and i know im making this transition, i just cant get past the wierdness of it. Dreamsigns seem to work best for me when i try it, and after last night...wow, i mean, Im going to try more often because i felt great when i woke up and i spent at least an hour in my lucid dream so it was pretty amazing...lets see what happens tonight.
