skipping the sleep and going straight to the lucid dream

ok, last night I had a very interesting dreaming experience. I am a newbie, and was not even trying when I first went into it. The weird thing is that I hadn't even fallen totally asleep when it started. I have a hard time falling asleep normally, so I was trying some meditation to help me get there. I began to slip into this dream, but at the same time could feel myself laying in bed, it was like living in a double exposed photograph. My dream felt very realistic, but at the same time, I was aware of my physical body, I could feel my arm tucked under my pillow, etc. I don't lucid dream very often, so my first thought was to go have some fun while the getting is good, nothing fancy, I just walked down the street (in my dream) and walked into this neighbor girls house, who just happend to be standing right inside, and I started to undress her and have some fun. Visually, everything looked very real but very dark. Everything felt very real. As for hearing, there were occasionally very distinct sounds, but they were few and far between, mostly silence and this faint ringing. I found myself having to concentrate very hard on the dream to maintain the realistic feel of the dream.
In any case, I walked around a little more, then decided there was this other girl I wanted to pay a visit to, I started walking down the street, and realized that she lives too far to walk, so I would try to fly. I have flown in lucid dreams before, but as I said, I barely had a grasp of this one, and as I tried to fly, I felt my body flintch in reality, which distracted me from my dream. Not meaning to, I repositioned my right arm (in the real world), and this brought me about 90% back to reality. Consentrating very hard I returned to the dream, and returned to my neighbors house, this time bringing her back to my house, and shifting into the dream a little stronger than before. I encountered my mother, and she had a look like what the heck was I doing with this neighbor girl. I tried to speak to her, but found myself unable to speak. I could get parts of words out, and stuttered a little, but could not put a phrase together, even though I knew exactly what I wanted to say.
Eventually, i forgot all about the lucid dream, and fell asleep, continuing as a normal dream, I can remember the rest of the dream pretty well, but I remember thinking it was real after a while.
Has anybody had an experience like this? with their dream taking place while they are still concious in the real world?

This sounds more like you were in advanced hypnagognic imagery than dreaming.

It COULD have been you dreaming...

Did you take any sort of drugs before you went to sleep or during that day?

I haven't had an LD long enough to really do anything. This last one I fought for my 25 seconds of control/realization. However, I have had dreams in the past where I've been unable to speak. In the dream a witch put a spell on me so I couldn't speak. However, I was so ticked off about that that I was able to work through it. My voice sounded very froggy at first, but then I started to regain control.
