Dangerous reality checks

Had an interesting experiance last night. Not as wild as some of the stuff Serinanth has, but disturbing none the less.

I was in some large complex, like a sports arena or something. Lots of parking lots, lots of cars. I can remember wallking from balcony to balcony looking for my car because I couldn't remember where I parked it.
I think I was on the fourth floor.
Suddenly it came to me:
Standard anxiety situation, cannot find my stupid car! I must be dreaming.
Anyway, without a second thought, I took a dive off of the fourth floor balcony.
Predicatably, I flew. I remember thinking, "There is something I wanted to do in my next lucid dream, I'd better wake up and remember what it is"

* poof - You Idiot, dream over *

I lay in bed for a few seconds and realized. HOLY CRAP, I reality checked by swan diving from a fourth story BALCONY!

I am still a little shaken over this and it happened over two hours ago.
I'm also pissed because I woke myself up to remember what I wanted to do!

Anyone else ever do something stupid like that?

That's awesome! I jumped off a cliff once.
I convincedc myself I would be ok, and I was find, my dream went on after that...hmm, you just need to not wake up. trauma is an illusion for me in dream world

haha, one time i couldnt find my vehicle, and i walked around forever in the mall parking lot trying to find it...but damn man, i didnt jump off a cliff, my RT's are alot safer than that...but i don't RT alot though...

Seeker, sometimes I have inclinations to do crazy reality tests like that. But then I usually just fly or try to send thoughts telepathically. I wonder why I don't do crazier stuff in my reality tests. I guess i've always been a shallow end wader at the beginning. However, with regards to other crazy shit that happens to me - I usually just try to laugh about it with someone else in the dream. I find it comforting to either show a friend "a cool trick i learned" or have them join in. Teaching people to fly is really fun. Dream people are pretty impressed by supernatural stuff, at least for me at this point in the journey. It'd be weird to visit a place where everyone could do supernatural things all the time and it was no big deal. might be humbling. Maybe I'll try it sometime. Anyhoo, just thought I'd add my two bits.

I've jumped off a few things myself sometimes the flying part didnt work and it was still a dream OOF

I try a hop into the air, see how long I can hold it. but then when I do it I say... "well Its about time" and dont realise I am dreaming *sigh im dumb as a rock at times hehe *

I usually do safe reality checks like you said. That is the disturbing part, I didn't even stop to think, just jumped!

Hope I don't do that some day when the law of gravity is in effect.

I tried to fly last night as my reality check, but I just jumped into the air off the ground...that's safe enough

I think when you're awake you know you're awake without checking, but if you're in a dream you can't be completely sure... or completely sane.

wellll... hehe
I have many instances when I am actually awake and I have to question it because I really dont know.
but my sanity is questinable at best here too
