      Controlled Vibrations

      Hey everyone!

This topic may seem a little strange, but I haven't been able to figure it out!

Anyways, the past year or so I realized that I can make my entire body start to vibrate, or tingle. Extremely similar to a toned down version of SP. I can make any part of my body feel this way, and with varying degrees of intensity.

I don't know how I do it...I just make this weird numbing/tingling/vibrating feeling happen.

Any ideas what I could be doing?

      -Logan

I think i know what your talking about. I just have never attempted to explain in to anyone cause its so hard to explain.

I think i discovered it by staying really still, and i can send a really strong shiver all over my body, mainly on my spine. As ive got better i dont need to be completly still.

It almost feels ticklish but not really. If i do it alot it also seems to be energizing. I can do it for a short amount of time and it makes me jump a little after.

Hopefully its the same thing that you are doing, let me know =]

PS: After experience both this and SP, i can say that this feeling does feel a little like SP, only SP is a little bit more concentrated in my head.

A similar thing happens to me since I started trying to WILD.

Like a shiver? Or a yawn? Is there any emotion or visualization connected to it?

      EDIT:
Have you read through this thread?

Its in the Beyond Dreaming sections, but I'm still going to warn you, its a little 'out there'.

      Thanks for the replies!

Robot Butler, it isn't similar to a shiver or yawn at all really. And, I have read a couple books about astral projection. It's something I'm very interested in. And that was actually my first thought as to what these vibrations were. But I've never successfully raised these vibrations to a level intense enough to have any sort of side effects.

Is it that same feeling you get when you are suddenly in a cold environment (like you walk into a cold room) and you get that shiver down your back? Because a couple of times attempting to WILD I had that. Maybe my ac just turned on though haha. I was half asleep

It's unlike anything I've felt, so It's pretty difficult to explain. It basically feels like energy rushing through me and interacting with my muscles specifically. It's very difficult to explain, sorry!

Hmm I probably haven't felt it, then. I also fail at every WILD attempt, that's probably got something to do with it!

I get it when meditating/doing energy work. I've always experienced it, but never really given it a second thought. If you believe in internal energies, I think that the feeling is cause my energy movement.

Doubt I have ever felt/induced these vibrations although they do sound kinda addictive. But I love it when people try to explain things with nothing to refrence them too, I've always beem asked how I shake my eyes (voluntary nystagmus) and I have never been able to explain or describe the feeling.

      Cheers

I definitely believe in inner energy movement. So that's always been my best guess. The vibrations definitely are not addictive either!

Sorry Dizko, that sounds pretty similar, but what I feel isn't really ticklish. I can do it for quite awhile, but the strength starts to fade. It seems like we're experiencing pretty similar things here.

Yea i know EXACLY what your talkin about, i thought i was the only person who knew about it and i been waitinq for someone else to bring it up...It's like if your layin down and you do it, you'll start to twitch riqht lol?? And when your doinq it, it feels like a "rush" that goes through any part of your body that you want it to...its weird what that is riqht?? i bet its somthin that you can use it for but we just dont know what...If you lay down and do it it feels like your somtimes sinking...But try and do it for a REAL long time and maybe somtin might happen..because it seems like when you try to do it for a long time, your body "makes" you twich or feel tired momentarily like you've been holdin somthin heavy...You know what i mean? but yea, try to do it longer and get used it, get a feel for it, because the better you get at it the faster you might learn to to be able to use it to your advantage

yeah, that's all exactly right except for the twitching part. It does seem like body has some sort of resistance to doing it for long periods of time. I've always thought it was something I should use as well. Like having OOBE or lucid dreaming.

I've read a lot of Astral Projection stuff, and it all deals with feeling vibrations similar to sleep paralysis.

Is it the tingling that starts below the stomach and reaches out into the arms and legs? Iv been able to do that before i even knew what it was, and theres probably an easy way to explain how to do it except it would make me look stupid trying.

Yeah, Pieman, I guess it does start from below the stomach. And it's like a wave that rushes through every other part of my body, I can feel the delay from the origin to my fingers and toes. But, I have learned how to make it happen without originating from the stomach as well.

Hey, I know exactly what you're talking about! I used to be able to induce vibrations while awake but it stopped after the third try or something daft. I've only ever managed to master this vibration feeling when I've woken up in SP and you can use it! Basically here's what I did:

During the day I set myself a "trigger" which was my favourite song at the time. I told myself that if I ever woke up in SP again with vibes I would imagine the song and it would take me out of body (well, into a lucid dream as far as I beleive). I did this and it worked first time. It felt like an out of body experience but I was essensially in a lucid dream starting from my room. I didn't see my body and nothing especially "astral" was going on, so I suspect I WILDed from SP. What's that... SPILDed!

Of course my technique was ultimately placebo effect so it may not work for all.

If you can induce vibrations as easily as you say that's some kind of gift because it's so hard for me! To actually start dreaming is way harder cos you're body has to be asleep.

The first time I ever had vibrations when I was younger trying to get to sleep it was extremely pleasurable, now they're just a boring sensation
