2nd Quality LD - advice to improve?

I'm pretty happy today. It's been 8 months and 5 LDs, only the first of those being quality. I was beginning to think I would never be able to hold onto an LD again, but this morning I had my 6th DILD and managed to calm myself enough to make it last a few minutes!

I made fire balls, floated, levitated a dog, did a Liu Kang kick and remained hovering, and briefly became Batman (the task I gave myself last night).

I almost flipped off my banister, but I was afraid that I might be sleepwalking, acting everything out in real life, and would die (I'm not even in the same country as the house I was in in my dream. What an ass!)

What woke me up? Well, I jumped through my window and landed in the street, but it was nighttime, pitch-black, and I couldn't see anything. I tried looking for lights inside a house, but I couldn't find anything and I think it was this inability to get my bearings that woke me up. Can anyone back up that theory? I figured next time I'll try the command "illuminate." Are there any other tricks?

Also, I wasn't able to really pull off being Batman, because I couldn't see myself and somehow that killed it for me.

Anyhoo, 2nd LD this month and a nice way to finish off my first Dream Journal.

Thanks again to everyone who's helped me!

Well done on the dream control!

Don't worry about not being able to do everything you want just yet, you haven't had many lucid dreams yet. Dream control usually takes some practice, and you are doing well already. My best advice is to just keep trying, and don't let yourself become frustrated if you are not able to do whatever you try to do. Frustration/anger and the like is known to kill dream control, so try to relax and try again. If at first you don't succeed, ect.

      Good luck with your progress!

I doubt "illuminate" would work; dreams are notoriously bad at changing ambient light levels. My advice would be to use spinning or a walking through a mirror to go to a place where it's day.
