It only works a few seconds - what do I do wrong?

I've got some sort of a problem here. Usually I use WILD-technique to LD, but somehow dreaming just works a few seconds:

It works just finde until a certain state between dream an reality, in which I can feel touches, hear voices etc. from the dreamworld, but also feel and hear things from my room. I could easily break up on it by moving (which feels funny when done now) or opening my eyes. I'm stuck forever in that state until I either ways get a lucid dream or drift off.
If i get an LD it will work for just a few seconds until I'm thrown back into this trance-like state I mentioned and I just can't find what I do wrong. It's not as if I would try so hard...
Me: "Just answer me one question: Is this a dream?"
DC: "As far as I know it is, of course."

      I love my DCs! xD

I don't move, I wake on my own and I don't know why...

Do you try WILDing directly when you are going to sleep, or later that night while WBTB?
If you do this directly when going to sleep that might be the problem...

Actually I'm doing that, but why is it bad? Too tired?

It works fine until I begin to feel some kind of pressure on my forehead, as if somebody was pressing a finger against my head. I know that I'm close to LDing then, but I'm stuck.

It has something to do with the REM sleep. The first REM cycle starts after about 90 minutes. That's usually when you dream.

I don't know much about it. But I've heard that there are people being able to WILD directly when going to sleep.
In any case, you can do the WILD after a WBTB, or during a nap in the day.
      Good luck!

You're right on the button Bolognese. WILDs are very unlikely to work if you try it right when you go to sleep. This is because you must go through 4 stages of NREM (Non-REM) sleep before getting to the 5th stage, REM sleep. It is in REM sleep that most dreams occur.

Highly recommend doing the WILD method in combination with the WBTB (Wake-back-to-bed) method, which entails sleeping for 4-6 hours, waking up via alarm clock, and then doing the WILD. Much easier.
      Stay lucid, stay WILD!
