      Saving lucidity for later

I had a rather long dream last night, and at one point I became lucid. For some reason I thought to myself "hmm.. I don't need to be lucid right now, so I'll save it for later if I need it" and I lost lucidity. Anyway, later on a friend of mine fell down an embankment in the woods, and after about a minute of looking for him, I remembered about my lucidity. I thought "oh yeah, this is a dream.. I'll just make him appear behind that bush..." There's kind of a gap after that though.

Has anyone else experienced this, where you gained lucidity and purposely forgot about it so you can use it later? I'm not sure what the point of doing this was - maybe I didn't want to wake up and I knew there'd be a greater chance of doing so if I remained lucid...

Yeah, something similar has happened to me before. I realized I was dreaming but thought I need proof this is really a dream, I'll wait until I get home to preform an RC. So after arriving home and reading a piece of paper twice, already knowing the words would scramble, I become fully lucid.
