Smile The most intense dream I think I've ever had (That I can Remember)

I found myself in a world with a strangely bright overcast sky, in some old abandoned town peering up at what looked like an old nuclear power plant not to far in the distance, with eerie red lights pulsating at the top of each of the smoke stacks. I was with a group (about four of five) of my close school friends, we were playing around in this quiet dull city - talking, jumping, even skateboarding (lol), and all of a sudden a wall from a nearby building burst loudly and several rough, dirty looking people with strange equipment and helmets with flashlights attached to them. We asked where they were from and they told us about a prophecy in which the city must survive off of an ancient artifact that was buried deep undergroud. They told us that it was now our turn and we didn't have an option, so they gave us all they're equipment and hastefully left us alone.

We put on all the equipment and entered the hole in which the strange people had came. We walked down what seemed to be an old mineshaft, that streched steeply down for miles and miles. We walked for what seemed like hours before finally coming accross a massive opening/cave in the ground. About the size of a high-school gym, the rocky walls strechd upward and downward into darkness. We had to scale a narrow rock ledge on the side of the opening.

After walking a few hundred meters, we came up to a steel door that was bolted against the side of the rock wall at the end of the ledge. There was a plate on the side that, after wiping the dust off, read:

      CAUTION:
      RADIOACTIVE AREA
      USE PROPER EQUIPMENT

      ---
      DO NOT REMOVE ARTIFACT
      (Random numbers) INSTALLATION 43

We ignored the sign and entered without equipment.

Before I entered, I remember having a flashback of some kind.. I remember envisioning an old man (resembled scroodge) in a massive posh, plush room with a lit fireplace. The windows were very classic and massive but had steel plating in front of them so the only light in the room was from this massive fire. I remember hearing the man sighing and complaining. I don't know what about. He was old, had aged skin and hair and was wearing a red robe. He made me quite nervous, although I did not know who he was.

We entered the door to find a massive room with no corners or walls, just blinding white light, and in the center of the room sat a silver pedistal with an odd glowing bright green crystal spinning and levitating directly above it.

In order to keep the system steady, apparently, we had to temporarily remove the crystal - only for a few seconds. Then we were to replace it. That's it. I was with this girl who I had had a massive crush on in school, and after I had looked in her eyes I decided to put a stop to this system, put a stop to all of this crazyness. I did it because she told me to..

After I had taken the crystal and didn't put it back like I was supposed to, the place started to shake - earthquake style - so we all legged it out of the place as fast as we could, running past falling rocks and bits of metal, absolute chaos. We finally reached the top and the chaos didn't end in the tunnel. The place was shaking and the smokestacks were cracking and the steam being produced from them was astounding. Then I had another flashback of the old guy in the red robe, this time screaming and yelling with his hands held high. I looked at the stacks and heard the echo of his voice.. Then I ran.

My friends were a decent distance in front of me, but I kept chasing them until we came to the strange beach of which I first found myself in the dream. My friends were sitting in the shallow water, so I sat with them. I looked the girl in the eyes and smiled. She smiled back, and we both laid back into the water, and then I whited out.. Then woke up. I thought about that dream constantly for weeks..

Sorry about all of that but if you read it all, I appreciate it. The emotions I felt from this dream astonished me.

Reminding me of Half Life 2 and Fear.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Thanks man. I'm wasn't sure if it would be interesting for anyone else, but I know it was extremely influential for me.
