Finally, a break in my dry spell!

Last night, finally, I broke the dry spell I've been having with a nice DILD. This one was sudden, not a reality check. All of a sudden, I just say "I'm dreaming" (I do this in reality whenever I get the chance. Finally paid off!) and gain lucidity. I go up these stone stairs, and into the next room.

It's like a cafe of sorts, but closer to a library or perhaps a small cathedral. There were books on these hip high shelves everywhere, and I looked around and saw lots of people in seats either eating or reading. I paid them no heed - after all, I'm dreaming! I can't really decide what to do, because it's been so long. I examine my surroundings further. There are chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and light coming in from the left side of the room. It's like there's stained glass windows that I can't see. I notice a large tome on a pedastal a few feet away, and decide to do some lucid reading. Never tried it before! I open up the book, and to my surprise, there is a musical score in it on one page, and words in a language that was something between Latin and Italian on the other. Naturally, I attempt to memorize it so when I wake up I can write it down, but to no avail. Maybe I just wasn't trying hard enough. I close the book and somersault (something I do involuntarily in lucid dreams) over to another pedastal, with another book. I open it up, and look! More music. This song is slower, and sad, but so beautiful. I close the second book and begin walking over to a hallway leading to the right. There is someone there, waiting for me, but before I get to him I wake up.

The whole scene had that warm feel of an old building with lots of light in it. This was one of the longer lucids I've had since I started attempting this regularly, and was a good experience. I get the feeling that that person waiting for me wasn't a normal dream character, in hindsight. All of my DC's pay me no heed, unless I know who they are in RL; in which case I recognize them from a great distance away, usually. I'm glad to have had another lucid dream - it had been too long!
