      dream characters and the matrix

I had the most intense LD I've ever had last night. First time I was able to maintain control for more than a moment and even make changes in a dream scene. The dream event that I was in leading up to the lucid moment was very unusual and disturbing. Here are my notes:

Some school friends and I [I'm not in school] are locked into a large reality simulator like that Jim Carey movie. Only a couple people know the truth and we tell others to ignore the lies and defy the control. "I" went lucid and travelled around the complex. I saw everything for what it was. I controlled my movements and once when unable to go upward I told myself 'it's a dream, do as you will' and I immediately went up. Then just as I was about to escape I awoke.

      LUCID!!!

I woke up exhilirated from flying around that complex and even had a hard time falling asleep again. At first when I woke up I thought this dream symbolized some aspect of waking life. Then I thought that perhaps it was the dream world itself that was simulating reality. Almost like the dream characters are trying to contain me in a limited sense of dreamland, when I nearly escaped by willing myself to fly out they triggered me to wake up.

hi there! welcome to the forums.

I know what you mean by characters trying to keep you in a lala dreamland. a lot of my dreams are about escaping that contained dreamland. In one dream I wanted to fly away from the contained dream, and all the characters attacked me by grabbing my leg and pulling me to the ground. Or windows and doors would disappear. Or the cieling would lower, so that I couldn't fly very high.

if anything however, those annoying dreams helped me learn dream control! since the only way to get out was to use some sort of dream control, like creating a door, or destroying entire walls. so if you have another matrix dream, it could be a good learning platform for dream control!
