      Question Spiders 0_o

      This is just an outline of a really random dream I had the other day though I'd share (btw you might find it kind of creepy).

      Basically I attained lucidity (but not dream control(which is my standard)), so I knew I was dreaming but it was like sitting in a chair watching a film... ANYWAY;

      I was a teenager at my primary school; and a friend told me that there was a new school nurse for "domestic issues" which I thought just meant pregnancy, brief councilling that sort of thing (which I've never had in any of my schools anyway). Anyway; just for the sake of it I decided to go and say hi because I was feeling sociable.

      So I got to the new "domestic issues" nurses' office and opened the door... the room was a white tiled room with a table in the middle (with desks around the edges); there was a kid sat on the side of the left side of the room.

      I forgot to mention there was blood EVERYWHERE; pooled on the floor, streaming down the walls and spattered on the ceiling.

      So, I was a bit miffed by this; the people inside didn't notice I was there suddenly a spider about the size of a small dog jumps out from the kid!

      It was a uniform bright red colour... and suddenly the nurse pulls out a freaking HUGE hammer from her other side and SMASHES the hammer into the spider killing it and splashing blood all over her apron.

      At this point I'm a bit more lucid because I was thinking wtf! So i actually said in the dream;
      "Excuse me, but what the HELL was that!?"
      And the nurse says "Oh; just a standard Moffet spider; there's been quite a few this year... wait... you didn't know what it was?"
      So i said no, and next thing I know im sitting on the desk with my mouth open; the nurse prying around in there trying to dig down to my chin where the spiders apparently hide!
      Because I'd never had a Moffet inspection!

      -From what I can gain these spiders are like parasites that lived in peoples chins; something akin to lice or crabs.. I thought it was funny because the spider which came from the kid when I came in was about half the size of the actual host!

      That's pretty much where I woke up and thought that it was probably the most random dream I've had for a while, so decided to share

      that was actually very entertaining, for some reason I love the name "Moffet spider", and a spider the size of a small dog living in someone's chin kind of sounds like something I would dream up (I have random dreams similar to this most nights, though their extreme bizarreness doesn't alert me to the dream, it just seems to make sense . ) The one time i got lucid in a dream it was because my mom came in the room and I knew that in real life she was in a different state so couldn't possibly be in the room. But of course things as outrageous as carrying a baby in a jar around totally dont alert me...*rolls eyes*

      Moffet spiders? LOL. It's really funny what dream characters say back to us in dreams. I had a dream the other day I met this strange lady, and I dont know why, but I asked her when she joined Fleetwood mac, she didn't even look anything like the lady singers, who I know both have blonde hair. So I don't know why I asked this. But I have never even thought of fleetwood mac in years, and she said 1934. I actually bacame lucid at this point because I realized she was lying... but I woke up. But then again she did scare me a bit with a cats eye

      I had a dream last night that a friend was throwing out a really nice tv; so i asked if I could have it instead of him throwing it out... and he took it really badly.. he said I could have it then cut the power cable in multiple places for no reason; I spent the rest of the night trying to fix it.

      (Didn't get lucidity on this one)

      You sound like me, haha, totally accepting!!, so what else can we do to spot a dream sign? I can't wait for my family to leave town so I can have a LD, the chances of meeting them even then are fairly slim.

      I think that's what reality checks are for; as an extra chance to realise you're dreaming.. i tend to just notice when something wierd happens like i gained lucidity when she smashed the spider; I could actually feel myself grinning in my sleep because I thought it was hilarious.

      On a completely random note does anyone here ever wake up singing/humming? I've woken up twice in recent days humming "mother earth by within temptation"

      spider are symbolism for fear..... they weave webs in metaphor of trapping your thoughts.... If you are afraid of spiders, realize they are just a manifestations literally for your fear at the time.... if you see a spider, do no kill it, rather let it go outside.

      No, but I'm totally intrigued by your dreams...I recently woke up screaming, but not from fear, I had tried to scream in the dream once for fear, and only got a hoarse whisper and at this point thought "Oh no, have i lost my voice AGAIN?" ( I lost it for about 2 weeks last year, it really scared me then) so I kept trying to scream, and after a few tries, I thought to myself, "OK. now you're going to try VERY HARD to scream.." and screamed in real life and it woke me up. I can't imagine waking up humming though, but it could be like talking in your sleep?

      I don't like spiders but I wouldn't say I'm afraid of them.. maybe it's just because re ently I've been noticing spiders everywhere for instance;
      spiders in the house(running across floor, huge web across kitchen,one on the wall 2 days ago)
      spiders in the garden(literally walked into that one)
      a spider seems to have taken up residence in my bike (whenever I go back out to my bike there's a web between the left handlebar and the seat)
      (There was a HUGE spider in the compartment under the seat when i got it back from the workshop.. but i chucked that one out)
      But the wierd thing is these seem to be occurring after the fact; I had that dream over a week ago I think.
      But yeah; I don't have anything against spiders; I never kill them.. that'd just be a mess to clean up...

      I guess so... but it's pretty random sometimes I'll have the tune stuck in my head through the morning... I once had "Somebody to love" by Queen stuck in my head on and off for about 2 weeks.
      I'm just glad I don't have that "I kissed a girl and I liked it" song on my computer..
      Apparently I can be quite vocal in my sleep too..maybe one day I'll set up a camera and link it to my computer so i can record myelf to see.

      LOL, I had a spell at dreaming about rats, for a few weeks, until I squished one and all this green stuff come oozing out. I actually remember wanting to pick it up and make it better, but it was dark and I couldn't find it.

      Damn catchy lyrics with their sexual undertones making them addictive to think about...
      I only heard the song for the first time about 3 days or so.. I was reading a book and jools hollands music show was on and i overheard it like "wtf?"
      Doesn't help it she's pretty good looking.

      I don't think I've ever woken up humming, but I do remember a dream I had 2 weeks ago during a nap where I woke up laughing with the goofiest grin on my face. It was a fun dream.

      Spiders are the literal physical manifestation for fear. Why do you think so many ppl are afraid of spider, yet they don't know why.... their best reason are "because they are creepy" Well the reason for that is : THEY FEED ON FEAR.

      If you do not have that paranoid thought of spiders being against you.... you should realize THEY ARE A PART OF YOU. Do not kill a part of yourself... even if it is fear..... because fear, and hate can be transmuted into peace and love...

      It's rare, but some spiders embody positive emotions, and are just there to observe your presence, and watch over you... (as are alot of animals around you)

      Yeh so I've heard, but I love spiders, really really REALLY love them, I save them at work, at home, and I've even held tarantuala's, so does it still apply to me, I mean, are they universally symbolic of fear, even for someone who has never been scared of them, cuz maybe that's how come I was feeling a bit scared the other night when them eight legged monsters appeared

      As I said I don't like them but I'm not overtly bothered by them. Maybe I'll type up my Legend of Zelda/seaweed monster dream...
