      Strange Invisibility Phenomenon.

I have been a lucid dreamer most of my life (as far as I can remember), and while the level of lucidity varies, there seems to be a very strange effect that I experience while making the transition from sleep to dream (or awake to dream, as happened the other night), and I was curious as to whether anyone else has had this strangeness happen to them...

For this example, I was napping in the middle of the day (great for LDing!) and I fell asleep while facing the wall against my bed. I hadn't realized I'd fallen asleep though, and I tried to move my hand to get more comfortable. As I moved, I noticed I could not see my physical body at all. I still felt my arm attached to my body, but I could see right through everything, as if it didn't exist but in my mind. I still had first-person vision but my physicality had turned invisible! I got a little disoriented and couldn't become fully lucid, because this phenomenon hasn't happened very much before and it felt too foreign to be comfortable... but everytime this has happened I am amazed at how clear and lucid I feel when my body "vanishes".

Anyone else have this experience, or one like it?
There are certainly dreams, and there are certainly nightmares; I believe you can't have the dream without the nightmare.

I get a lot of body distortions like you are describing. Sometimes my limbs will bend in impossible ways. Sometimes my consciousness feels like it is still attached to my body, but upside down or in the 'wrong' place. I've had a few strange experiences where I seem to have a dream body superimposed on my real body. I'm assuming people who are into OBE and such are very familiar with this feeling. It can be so unnerving.

I'm assuming your invisibility was something like this? An invisible body where your real one should have been?
