My first LD was more vivid than real life and much more vivid than normal dreams. I only really got to take in the scenery but it was still awesome.

2nd and 3rd LDs were a bit pathetic but the first gave me an idea of what is really possible so at this point I'll take what I can get until I'm good enough at LDing to really explore the possibilities.

I have had dreams before where I was dreaming that I was lucid but wasn't really lucid. These dreams are about as clear as normal dreams. The real lucid dreams I had differed in that I was actually self aware and 110% on all senses.

No references dawg. I just expected more. Its like when(or if) you go to McDonalds and buy a Big Mac and get a double cheeseburger with lettuce. It just sucks.

So, how bout my mind cut the crap and gimme a dream worth dreaming about. lol

That's why I have it in mine.

Imagine it like this: If you view your dreams in the same way you would view the matrix, you have endless power and the ability to do anything. Your mind makes your dreams like this instead of sometimes restricting your power and making you have less control over your dreams.

I find that the matrix and dreams are very much alike.
Do not try and bend the dream. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realise the truth.
      There is no dream.
Then you'll see, that it is not the dream that bends, it is only yourself.

Haha, its a picture of a man floating up into the air with his arms out. It has no reference to the matrix. I have a (sort of) matrix quote in my sig.

My picture was one from deviant art and it's just showing the image of a person flying, which is a thing I like to do in my dreams.

My first was worse, it was a WILD and after I fell through my bed I landed on some concrete and died.. It was a thrill to fall through my bed into a dream, but hitting concrete at high speeds isn't always the most fun. It lasted 5 seconds if not less.
      lol, I posted this earlier.

Falling through your bed is such a thrilling experience, but my one crashed and burned.

My first lucid dream was one of my favorites for some reason. It was a DILD and I did the light switch reality check. It lasted a very long time and I had pretty good control. I was able to walk through a door, use telekenesis, fly around a big mall, and talk to dream characters. It felt like an hour but probably not. For a while after that they werent as good. They would start to fade because I was too awake. Then I started getting mixed results depending on which method I used. Ive never been great at keeping a WILD going for a long time but for MILDs and such they have worked out a lot better for me.

Yeah, when i started the dream, i could feel two bodies, it was cool. and "feeling the breeze" worked quite well to get set in. but there was too much fog, and too short...

My first LD lasted only maybe 10 seconds, but the mere feeling of understanding the fact I am dreaming made it epic. Don't know about others but when I realize I am dreaming I usually hear strange humming, vibrating noise in my ears and world whirls a bit, becomes sharper, stabilizes and creates this intense feeling that satisfies me.
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

My first LD was me looking at my hands, realising I was dreaming and then it faded away. I was still bloody excited when I came to reality though because I had at least taken a small step in the right direction.

Had my second last night, only lasted for like 10 seconds but I was in much more control, I choked a guy and threw him because he wouldn't let me climb a ladder. Lost lucidity after that but I'm getting slowly better at this so I'm happy with what I got.

It's definitely a process. At first I was frustrated because it didn't just come easily. You *do* have to train yourself. TheCusp has a good thread about "The Nature of Dream Control" that I highly recommend.

My first LD was about ten or fifteen seconds long. I was at my old elementary school and it was snowing, snow on the ground and everything. So I got so excited when I realized that I was dreaming and I slid on my stomach across the playground. Then I lost lucidity. But just being lucid I noticed how amazingly real it felt.

Maybe just take a few seconds the next time you become lucid to take it all in. Focus on something. Don't try to do too much. Are you doing RC's? Maybe rub your hands together when you become lucid, that tends to stabalize you.

Let me know how it works out.

Hence the word Lucid: Transparently clear and having a clear mind.
Maybe look up the meaning huh?

In case this wasn't cleared up yet:

"Lucid dreaming is simply dreaming while being aware you are dreaming." -- From this website's introduction.

If your first lucid dream sucked, my advice to you is this: DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! You aren't supposed to be able to have your first lucid dream and
do an awesome job at it. In fact, I'd be very surprised if there is anyone whose first lucid dream didn't suck. Give it time. It's just like learning any other skill, you can't expect to master it on your first try. It takes practice. Just keep trying and you'll get it!

In my first LD I was being chased by some futuristic dudes with guns. I realized it was a dream, and instead of trying to use some powers, I turned around and got shot in the back on purpose, knowing it would end the dream.
