      Taste

I just wondered... Can you taste food in dreams? Because if you can it would be pretty cool; You could have a goal that's to eat something you never seen before, like blue meat balls. The taste could be surprisingly good, better than anything you've ever tasted or desgusting.... I really want to try (if its possible to taste) Have anyone had any experiences?

I know taste works in dreams, remember one cookie that was AWESOME haha in a dream.

But how does something taste like you have never tasted before? ever tried to eat something in a dream, that you know you never have eaten and then tried to eat it in real life to see if the taste is the same?

If you eat something you have never eaten before, the chances are its not going to taste like it actually does but your mind might invent a new taste or base itself from something you've already eaten. I can't really say, I'm new in the dream world!

I drank Chilli Flavoured Coffee with the pope in a recent dream, and it tasted like a pleasant drink, almost beer-like. It didn't taste anything like how coffee with a tinge of chilli in it would taste.

One of my first ever lucids took place in a supermarket, and I spent the whole time eating food I had already had in real life to see if it was the same (and it was).

      So, as JET73L said:
It's all down to what your subconscious sets it up as, and whether you notice the taste of a food or just chew it up and swallow it as part of an ongoing sequence of actions.
my only regret is losing my original dream journal.

My LD's are hard to come by but they're intensely real when I slide into one. You've not lived until you've eaten LD dream food. For me at least it's exactly like real food only tastier. I can't control LD's so I can't simply summon up a meal. I have to find food where I find it. Like a common awake mere mortal.
