i been to the void many a times...
here are somethings that *might* help you
try turning completly to fire.. like the human torch--- i got thrown outter there when i did that, i cant say if this will work for you...
a other trick i learnt, is pick one direction and run! as fast as you can-- and see what happens, plz let me know if any of my tricks help you!

I will try both. Speed didnt seem to help last time - I was flying not running but tried to accelerate to incredible speed to see if it came to an end. The fire thing sounds interesting.

If found my self in the VOID a few times, when WILDing or DEILDing.
Its not astral travelling though.

i dont think anyone really knows what the void is or what causes it
i believe it all comes down to your own belief

Nah. Its in your head.
Sometimes a dream breaks up and you feel like your in your body and looking at the back of your eyes. This is waking up.

Sometimes your so deep in REM that the dream breaks up.
Dreams are 3 Dimensional. No surprise that if the dream imagery degenerates that the place your left with (albeit temporarily) feels 3D too.

the void has lifeforms within it, there more then temporary

In my first lucid dream I tried to fly, and I was successful. Then I decided to fly straight up and see if I could go into space. I flew up, and all there was was complete darkness. It was boring, and so I decided to fly back down to earth. I looked down and earth wasn't there. It was my first LD so I was freaked out. I though maybe if I fell straight down I would fall back onto earth. So I curled up cannonball style and closed my eyes. I felt the sensation of falling, and when I opened my eyes I was falling through clouds.

I guess the blackness might have been the void you guys are talking about. Or it could just be my subconscious idea of space. *shrugs* Maybe if you find yourself in the void just close your eyes and try to teleport somewhere else.

Or do a cannonball, it worked for me.

Look people - please READ the post.

I asked if anyone had experienced the void and if so what did they do.

I did not ask for a critique on my choice of name for the experience.

Anyone who looks around these boards will see there are plenty of people who beleive OOBEs/AP are "just a dream" and others who beleive they are something else. You will also notice the board is full of Xtians, Atheists, Agnostics, Pagans, Hindu's, etc - and all of those have a completely different point of view - and many of them will argue with passion that their belief is "right".

If you look closely at science you will see the same - you will find theories and counter theories on almost any subject. And if you check back in 10 years time you will find all new theories and counter theories. Science has yet to explain life, conciousness, and has barely began to map and understand the mind. I read the other day that man will have finished exploring much of our galaxy long before we finish exploring and understanding the mind. Therefore I enjoy the work of researchers like Leberge and respect their opinions - but I make a point of not automatically beleiving everything some one says who just happens to have the word "Doctor", "Phd", "Reverend", "Bishop" or anything else after their name.

I am 40 years old, have been experiencing both LD's and AP/OOBE for many many years. To me there is a clear difference in experience between an LD and OOBE/AP event. I have been refereing to OOBE's as AP since I was 11 years old - mainly due to a lifelong interest in esoteric subjects and mystism.

Its imperative to keep an open mind on all things. The fact is for all our science, religion and philosophy we know very very little as yet - and cant even agree among ourselves.

Therefore I could not care less what you "think" it is - I will refer to it by whatever name I want.

You can think and say what you want.
But theres a good chance you will find yourself astral travelling to the Beyond Dreaming section against you will.

There are plenty of OBE sites if that is your thang.
But DV does endevour to filter out the supernatural and cultish.
We're all about the science man!
Which is why I like it.


You can generically ask about The Void without putting your personal POV into it.
And I'm happy to discuss on that basis.

I've experienced it a few times. One was a DEILD in which I saw awesome bright blue fractal shapes in the distance.
I genuinely did feel as if I was in a deep dark 3 dimensional space.

Another time was during a WILD. I felt as if I floated up out of my body and into the VOID.
Then to the right of me it was like I was watching a building scroll past. As if I was falling in slow motion down a sky scraper.
I reached out to touch the building and when I made contact I found myself in a dream touching a building.
I then went on to have a LUCID dream.
