      alarm or signal for W.I.L.D.

I'm a long time lucid dreamer, started doing w.i.l.d. some time ago by accident. I've recently had nerve damage to my left ear. No hearing in that ear now (except for some ringing). But i now have a great "alarm" for when i'm ready for a w.i.l.d.: I get a pulse or loud rhythmic ring in that ear when it's ready to happen and i can always relax into it. As i relax, the pulse gets faster and faster and i know it's working. It soon becomes a solid tone and when that happens, I'm in. It's as reliable as a smoke detector for me (not as loud! ) and never fails. Weird, but does anyone else have this type of thing?

monte, I've never heard of this before but what a great way to turn a negative experience (nerve damage) into a positive one (a WILD alarm).

Yes that's quite unique... Silver lining to every cloud, eh?
