Could not tell the dream from reality!

Sorry for posting so late, I had this lucid dream early this morning, but have been too busy to post.

It's been about six months since I've had a lucid dream this vivid. I found myself at my old work place, walking down the hall with a friend. It was so real! On a whim, I asked myself, "Could this be a dream? Doesn't feel like one"

I reality checked by trying to fly. WOOT! Lucid!

I landed and just walked around observing people. They all had on a variety of clothing. I could see so much detail in everything! The weave of blue jeans stood out!

The types of sweaters, shirts, ties! I could smell peoples perfume or aftershave!

Whenever I would bump into someone, it felt totally real!

I just walked around and shook my head in wonder. This lucid dream was totally real. I could not tell the difference between this dream and an actual waking experience.

Lucid dreaming has got to be the coolest thing in the world!

Weeehhiiii!! Those kinds of LD just give me the cribbles! They are the ones that makes one ask oneself all the questions. Usually my LD tends to be low level lucidity, but sometimes!

Seeker: Did you try to controll the dream in any way? in that case did you have any trouble controlling it because it was so real, to real?

I tried a little bit of control and worked on a few things from my to do list, had a high level of control. Mostly, though, I just wandered around and observed.

I did notice that when I tried to control something that the dream began to becom unstable and a little chaotic. I was almost as if my subconcious felt I needed this experience and was getting a little annoyed with me when I attempted to change the story line!

The high level lucids are the ones that I really dream for. But usually its those high levels ones when I am either kneeling in the sand examining it and letting it flow through my fingers in amazement, or in another instance laying in a field of grass and plucking blades of grass from the earth...might as well have been real life...I too, just lay/sit there and shake my head or laugh at how real it all is and how this CANT be a dream.

The same has happened to me whenever I've tried to control my high level lucids...and here's my point of view as to why this may be. Possibly, the high level lucids are SO real...that it is almost like impossible to change things or control things b/c our minds really have trouble accepting the fact that it is just a dream. The low level lucids are easy for me to control, b/c they are already quite unreal. See what I mean? I think it's all in our minds, and b/c of the realism our minds exert a certain amount of rules and control over us even though we know it's a dream. Congrats on the HL lucid though

      Seeker, you're an inspiration. 8)
90% of my LDs have been medium and low level lucidity. I wonder how much of that has to do with expectation.
I've got to develop the belief that high level lucidity is something I can achieve, and there's no real reason I can't experience it.

I wish I could have hi level lucids at will. If only I could just figure out what causes them.

I had a non-lucid last night that I'm going to have to post. Wierd!

I have been using this method i came up with to have realy vivid dreams. i dont know if it has been talked about before. This method works by visualizing your self just standing somewhere you have to imagin the feel of it and imagin the smells and all the senses in your chosen setting switch all your senses to that setting . then if you realy tried hard it will just put you straight into the dream that you imagined i mean straight in without falling asleep! because if all you have in your head is one reality that is where you will be. Im pretty sure this method will make a dream more lucid and more vivid.

It makes you think that, couldn't this 'real' world also be a lucid dream?

Most of the time, I'm sure it is. For centuries, all of the mystics have been calling this an illusion.

That sounds a bit like WILD, but I could be wrong.

Seeker, which method of induction did you use to get your HL LD? Which ones do you regularily use??
The trick is to combine your waking, rational thoughts to the infinite possiblities of your dreams...

Most of the time, I do not use an induction method. That was the case with this one. I was in the dream and for some strange reason, just decided to perform a reality check. I fully expected the check to fail because it was so realistic.
