      My First Lucid!

Okay, I had my first lucid (actual) lucid dream since I have been on this site on Wednesday, and this is how it went:

      Key
      NonLucid-Lucid

So, I went to the pool with two people, a boy and a girl, but in my memory their forms and faces are blurred. The pool was massive and deep, and had an obstacle course, but it vaguely reminded me of a pool at my community Centre. Both of my friends had a difficult walk across the obstacle course, wanting to avoid the water for some reason. I figured I might as well do the same, but I notice a rope attached to the ceiling and reaching to me, so I grabbed it and jumped. I soared across the water with a ridiculous amount of speed, but I didn't quite make it to the end. For some reason, the rope rotated to the right, and a went just over a low wall on the obstacle course. I kept going and hit a wall, and it hurt a little bit. I saw if I didn't let go I would land on the ground next, I let go, but for some reason I thought to myself "It's okay, I'm dreaming, the water won't hurt" (still not lucid, but the worlds weirdest RC) so I belly flopped into the water. I was stunned for a few seconds, but then a thought suddenly jolted through my mind.

I WAS DREAMING!!! This time the thought was a lot more distinct, and I felt very aware. Obviously for my first dream I was very excited, and I made myself breathe underwater, but I got really excited, I noticed my heart beating faster, and the dream started to fade!!! I was in near-blackness when suddenly I remembered to focus on something. It was hard to find anything because I was underwater, so I simply counted my fingers and looked at the cracks and reminded myself I was the one in control. Slowly the dream started to fade back in, but it was less clear then when I first realized I was lucid. Instead of being patient and spending more time grounding myself, I simply started "flying" underwater, so I could practice (Not 100% sure why this idea made sense). I was zooming through this huge pool, without applying any physical force, when I decide to fly out of the water. I make a huge, dolphin-esque dive out of the water, and realized I was flying straight at a window! I tried to change my trajectory, when I realized that I wasn't able to fly above water yet! I simply hit it, bounced off, and told myself there was no pain, so there wasn't. I saw my dad standing there (The pool was gone) And I asked him if he knew how to fly. He said that he did when he was younger and offered to teach me. (Memory blank, but the dream continued)

I am hovering in the air with my dad, standing on nothing, over a nondescript city. It was nighttime and it looked so beautiful. I remember thinking to myself "This was such an amazing dream" but in my memory I don't think I was lucid. The dream ended here.

      Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! My first lucid!

Thanks, I've been trying since Wednesday. I assume it was probably natural talent because when I was younger I used to jump off high places in order to "escape" my dreams.

Funny story - This once caused 4 false awakenings in my home, each "version" being like my house, but having something eerily different, like all the wallpaper and furniture adorned with that purple "pimp fur" stuff. I was scared out of my pants, I though I would never be able to wake up by the third false awakening. I wish I understood about LDs when I was 10.

I had my first after 3 days of joining this site. I still remember it like it was yesterday.

I will remember this for a long time too. It was so surreal.

I know it's so cool. Some people are just not willing to try new things. I'm using this to learn about myself, my brain, and to have awesomefun. It makes sleeping less of a waste of time.

Edit: Yes, I am a guy.

That's pretty good for your first LD! Hopefully as you get better you will LD more often and for longer periods of time. Try doing other techniques like DEILD. It is my favorite.
