Weird experience saying "higher self" in LD

I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else. A few weeks back I became lucid in a dream and decided to say "higher self". I didn't say it to a dream character, just out loud in the dream. I wasn't really expecting much, maybe for someone to appear or something. Well, as soon as I said those words I immediately felt a pulling sensation (similar to the pulling you might feel during a WILD transition, I've had a few of those) and I was propelled upward towards the sky. After a few seconds, the dream faded to black and reformed with me on the ground where I started. I've tried saying the words a few times since then and the upward pull happens every time. And every time I either wake up or the dream fades to black and reforms with me on the ground.

So does this happen to anyone else when they say "higher self"?

How bizarre. You've found some sort of dream-reset button for yourself. Any ideas why this happens? What comes to mind when you think of the term "Higher Self" while awake?

Maybe subconciously you are taking the phrase "higher self" literally, which then actually makes you actually go higher? Just something to consider.

I wish I knew what it meant. On a whim I decided to try it after reading some threads about dream guides and listening to a guy on youtube talk about meeting his higher self while lucid dreaming.

Higher self kind of means something to me out here, but it's more of a vague concept that may or may not be accurate dealing with past lives, where we go when we die, how we're just a piece of something bigger, etc. In the dream world I literally had no expectations of what would happen, which is why the pulling thing was weird. And I don't feel like it's a dream reset, but more like I should be pulled somewhere, but maybe I'm not ready yet, or maybe I can't ground lucids well enough (they tend to not last more than a few minutes for me).

I doubt it's my subconscious forcing me upwards because it thinks "he said higher self! up he goes!" But maybe I'll try saying "lower self" and see if I drop down somewhere.

Well, when most people imagine a spiritual version of themselves, they tend to imagine them upwards, like in heaven or higher plane or other equivalent. As humans we tend to associate hight with clarity and greatness. I don't know why, but nobody ever aims to "Descend to a Lower version of themselves" but rather "Ascend to a Higher version".

Kindof a roundabout way of saying it, but maybe you are searching for your higher self by going upwards? Who knows.
On LD hiatus. Probably will start again around new years.

Or, you know -- randomly throughout this year and next.
