      Was I lucid dreaming??

Okay I have been reading through this site all day... this lucid dreaming sounds so interesting when I read others posts ... it makes me wonder..

Last week I had a dream of my grandfather who passed almost ten years ago I see him most when I am going through a difficult time..

Anyway I saw him standing in his old kitchen I was there with him talking to him and I cried & said I know its only a dream but I am so happy to see you so happy you are here and he told me everything was going to be okay.

Was that lucid dreaming since I knew I was dreaming???

i would call it a lucid dream.

i think the basic definition of lucid is to be aware. and if you were aware that you were dreaming, then it was lucid. when people refer to lucid dreaming, we usually suggest that we are in control of what happens and such but being in control is on a higher level of lucidity.

i hope this helps and i hope you join us becus nothing beats lucid dreaming.

some people would probably will argue, but ill go ahead and say it before they do (just get a strange feeling)

some say lucid dreaming is just being aware (not so much that you're dreaming) while dreaming. noticing things like what you see, smell, hear, feel, taste, etc while a dream is taking place.

but still my definition of lucid dreaming is being aware that you are dreaming

      but yeah. good luck

I would say that you were lucid dreaming even thought you didn't control the direction the dream went in. You knew you were dreaming which is exactly what lucid dreaming is Congrats on your first LD

      Yes, absolutely, you were lucid.

      Now work on dream control!
