I had stopped doing most of the exercises required for lucid dreams after disappointing results. However I was rather surprised by actually having one last night. I don't recall all the bits before and after the lucid part, but mainly it picked up in the old house I grew up in.
I was fumbling around because my alarm clock said 12pm and I thought I was late for work. However I looked outside and saw it was dark so I glanced back at the clock and realized it now said 2 am. I thought something was fishy here so I walked into the bathroom and looked at my reflection. Everything was a bit off, so I looked down at my hands and started telling myself that I was dreaming and then whoosh, lucid.
I glanced up at the mirror and decided to try and change myself while looking at my reflection, since self-transformation is something I am always trying to attempt. I was aiming for a human-gargoyle type thing. Wings, claws, tail, etc. It was really tough though. I had to focus on body parts one at a time, trying to will them to change, but had a very tough time of it.
Other parts of my body would shift back when I wasn't focusing on them, and sometimes whole parts of me would just flat out disappear. I finally managed to make a few changes, specifically some wings so I leapt out the window to try and fly but just couldn't manage it.
The best I could do was glide downwards. I kept leaping around like an idiot trying to do it, even climbing trees for height and then trying, but nothing. I think it was kind of interesting as I struggled with my minds own doubts about what I was capable of doing in the dream.
It reminded me of the Matrix. I eventually woke up.
