My first message from my subconscious!

      Hey all,
I've had several lucid dreams in my life but I only have them occasionally and I have to be consciously thinking about them in waking life for them to occur. My last LD was probably a year ago or so so it's been awhile. anyway on to the dream.

I was taking a nap (best way to have a DILD) and in the dream I was by a river with my family in the evening. Suddenly a loud boomed thundered ominously and a huge array of cargo ships flooded the river. The weird part is that they appeared from nowhere and came into view as if they were being rendered by a graphics card (some even had some glitches lol) and so I thought, 'hmmm, maybe I'm dreaming.' Except I "knew" that I wasn't dreaming but I decided to try a RC anyway so I looked to the sky and tried to fly. Sure enough I began floating off the ground and was then lucid.

So I flew a little bit and decided that I wanted to talk to a DC, something I've only done once before but was pretty cool so I looked around for someone and was thinking that I wanted to talk to my subconscious but I didn't see anyone. I lost interest and landed next to a giant wheelbarrow and started throwing it around like my hands were a gravity gun when I noticed a man wearing jeans and a white polo. He was tall, slender, and had white hair but was faced the other way. I wanted to ask him something cool (meaning of life, who is God, etc.) and I did but I don't remember exactly what I asked.

He then said, "You must first rid yourself of me, only then can you move on."
"But what do you represent?" I asked.
"Grievance." Came the reply as a chiming bell sounded and a wave of revelation came over me. I didn't know what he meant and just like that he was gone.

Not wanting to waste precious lucidity, I continued to fly and have fun for a long time until I woke myself up trying to have sex (like always). After getting up I pondered the message presented by my DC. What was meant by grievance? Just then an image of my ex-girlfriend popped into my head. We broke up several months ago but I'm still not entirely over her and it definitely affects how I act around other girls and I won't be able to move on until I get her out of my head.

So that was it! I received a message from my subconscious and then interpreted it! :bravo: And it was something true and real. I think that dreams contain important messages for people but for the most part they only regard personal, internal matters and so that is where someone should first look when trying to interpret a dream.

I'm glad to be LDing again and will be ready with more questions for the next DC I run into. Oh yeah, and I need to learn to not want to have sex with every woman I see in a dream.
