      Lucid, but not in control

Last night, I had this wicked dream. Not sure how this one started... I was in this big store/building/who knows with a few other people... during zombie apocalypse! This was a pretty long dream, so bits and pieces will be missing, but the main thing is there. Me and a couple of the people ran upstairs into a bedroom blah blah blah. I'm usually good at recalling my dreams, but holy hell this one was long. I can't put it in chronological order so I'll just skip to the end.

      -snip-

The people hear some zombies outside so we hide on the stairs (which is now a ramp) and wait. But then we hear a car, so everybody goes back to the window to see who it was. Some dumbass old lady, who is oblivious to the zombies, opens the door because she wants to grocery shop. We all break out into a panic, people are either fleeing the store or running to the roof, and I decided to take my chances with the zombies. I get outside (it suddenly turned night) and see the zombies for the first time... some of them can run. Whoops. I book it past em and see a car driving toward the zombies. Theres a 8 year old kid in there, who looks sort of like the kid Dean thought was his son in that one episode of Supernatural... Anyways I start crying talking about how sorry I was about puppies and morphine... what. The boy tells me not to kiss him (seriously, what?) and I run away. I see this big tower with these really long fences going toward the door, sort of like a hallway. I run towards the door, but the zombies are coming too. I'm trying to unlock it but they get to me first...

...and I end up at the beginning of the dream. We are running up the stairs again, but this time I look back and notice the giant glass windows and automatically opening doors (I forget what they are called, ha). I turn back to the guy in front of me and say "Wait a minute, why don't we board up the windows?" and then it clicks. I've been here before... I must be dreaming. I check out my hands and they are blurry and a little orange, pinch my nose, I can breathe. Hurray. Only, instead of running off I look at my hands again because I was disappointed they weren't radically different. Oh well. Now, instead of freaking out like all the other times, I decided I was going to calm down and take things slow. I walk towards the door and I put my hand on the knob and think "when I open this, I will be in a meadow." I open the door, whoops, I'm outside my house. A little annoyed, I try making fire in my hands. I think real hard, but nothing happens. I give up and turn around... there is a torch behind me. Success? I think not. I decide I'm going to explore a bit, so I try running. It doesn't work, I end up running in place, so I walked instead.

Heres where it gets a little freaky. I somehow end up in a mall, still lucid, going to a clothing store. A bunch of weird emo people are there, so I leave. I see some girl who isn't even that attractive, and I tell her "You are going to have sex with me" and I start taking off her clothes. I wake up... WHAT THE HELL. Now, this wasn't like me at all. Honestly, and I'm not saying this so yall won't think I'm a pervert, but lucid sex is the last thing on my mind. Arrrrgh. The only thing that I was able to do was the only thing I didn't want to do. Disappointing... this was the longest lucid dream I have ever had and the most lucid I've ever been. Now, I know my dream control sucks and I need practice... but what was up with the end? Why would I lose control like that?

      It's different for everyone.
I often lose control because I get distracted, I've heard of people losing control because the dream wasn't clear enough. There are plenty of reasons it could have happened.

Lucid dreaming is a very personal experience, and no one can give you exact directions or instructions on what to do. You have to experiment a little, find out what makes you tick. Think what might have possibly thrown you off in the dream, and why what happened, happened.

Congrats on the great dream, by the way. Sounds extremely vivid
