      Talking My first LD

lol, okay, I only really started 'researching' lucid dreams last night (about reality checks and things) and I was doing all these reality checks before I went to bed. (the nose pinch one, the finger through hand and the trying to read text one)
While I was falling asleep I kept telling myself "Remember this dream!" over and over. The thingy I read last night said to start off by just remembering my dreams, so I wasn't expecting to have a lucid dream.
Yeah, I'm not going to go into heaps of detail about the dream, but here's basically what happened:
I was having a normal dream - I was on the side of a 'jungle' mountain. The path was mud. I walked to the top and got into the backseat of this parked car. I did the finger through hand reality check... but my finger didn't go through my hand..
Then some guy outside of the parked car started talking to me through the window and he sort of suggested there were more reality checks I could try.
I got kind of wierded out and started walking back down the path. I tried the nose pinching thing and instantly realised I was in a dream!

I remembered the spinning thing (I really wanted to go to my school car park to meet up with someone from school). I spun around and everything went dark and a sort of 'language selection screen' came up with lots of different coloured boxes. I "selected" the orange box because it reminded me of the sunset over the school car park. But nothing happened...
I walked a little further, and tried to summon someone I wanted to see. A light switch appeared in the air next to me and I flicked it, and everything went dark. Then I flicked it on and nothing had changed. So I flicked it off and back on again and THE PERSON WAS THERE.
I was so surprised I woke up...

The only problems were that the spinning thing didn't work and I woke up really easily. Oh, and the dream was kind of...blurry... the whole time. (I didn't know how to stabilize the dream.)

ANYWAYS, yay I thought it would take longer to have my first proper lucid dream.

We went for a drive for the day. Nothing really big happened.
I started reading about lucid dreaming like an hour or half an hour before going to sleep.
I was really enthusiastic about starting a journal, so I guess that might have helped.
Or maybe it was just luck, lol

So from my understanding it was your very first time hearing about it? If so, that is awesome man!

Congratulations! I did something similar to what you did last night, i was reasearching at dv and reading tutorals and had a couple of lucids last night. It seems like, if you keep your mind on lucid dreaming before you go to bed, it may help you become lucid.
