      First Experience!

Hey , today I had my first Lucid Dream. I think it was NILD or DILD. It was quite bizarre.
I fell asleep (I wake up at 5 am to meditate and yoga, took a nap to attempt lucidity at like 8 am) and then started dreaming. I was in my room and "awakened". I suddenly remembered that I could be dreaming, so I did a reality check, and I was dreaming So I got up and went to my brother's room. He was watching TV in his bed, and I told him -I'm going to go visit your cute friends.- but my mouth was kind of like twitched on the side, so it was hard to speak right. My brother said -okay- and disappeared into his sheets!
Then I went downstairs and tried to fly instead of walking down, but I only could jump really high and long. My mom was in the kitchen. I walked to her and told her -Mom, I'm going to go look for my brother's cute friends.- She was very creepy, her eyes very narrowed, she didn't blink. -What cute friends?- she told me. -His cute friends, mom!- I said and started floating above a kitchen cupboard. -Well, do whatever you want.- she said angrily. Then I got desperate that I couldn't talk right, and that I couldn't move or manipulate the dream like I wanted, and got scared by my mom and brother's creepiness. So I tried to wake up. And had a fake awakening, in my bed. I noticed something was weird because there were blotches in the wall, so I did a reality check and noticed I was still dreaming. Then I tried to awaken again, and again another fake one. So I got scared that I couldn't ever wake up, and screamed -Wake up!- and rubbed my eyes, and finally I woke up.
Oh, right and it wasn't really vivid, it was kind of faint and dark.

So I have a few questions:
      -What was with my mouth?
-How can I manipulate my dream?
-How can I attain major lucidity?
-I wasn't fully lucid dreaming, was I? It still sounds like a dream, but the difference is that I knew I was dreaming.

      Thanks

Congrats on the Lucid Dream and yes, it was a DILD.

      To answer your questions...

-I also find it hard to speak in dreams. For me it feels as if my mouth slows down and my speech becomes garbled. However, I have simply thought of a question and a dream character has answered. Remember, your in a completely thought responsive environment.

-There's many ways but I'd say you should first check out the "Dream Control" section of the forum.

-Again, it's up to you to explore the forums and try new techniques. For me personally my greatest and most vivid LD came from a WILD. However, it's quite a tough technique.

-Your dream had all the hallmarks of a Lucid Dream. If you tested that you were dreaming and it worked you need no other proof. Also, be sure to regularly do tests on yourself even when lucid as you may slip out of lucidity.

      Best of luck!

      Oh, thanks a lot!
About the mouth I discovered it was probably because as I was lying in my bed I was opressing that side of my mouth in the pillow XD, could be probably that.
      Again, thanks a lot
I'm happy now that I know I had my first LD, I thought it was going to take a lot of time!

      why do you say this??

just knowing the definition "knowing you are aware that you are dreaming in a dream" is enough.

if you had a lucid dream, you must already know that it was a lucid dream, you must not come here and say "hey, it's a lucid dream? or...not?"

      bye =)

Oh, well, I was thinking because it wasn't VERY lucid, instead faint and dark, and I still had the bizzarre things that happen in dreams.
But now that you guys have informed me, I know better
      Thank you.

Ps. I love your siggy. It's so funny (:

the dream is not lucid, you are.
if you are lucid, then is ok.
if the dream is faint and dark, or have bizarre things, then that's another story.
try stabilizing, increasing clarity and things like that.
becoming more present is a way of increasing clarity.

      Ps. thanks
