      FINALLY!!! 1st LD!! (w00t)

Just when I'd given up on ever having an LD... it snuck up on me! I didn't even try any method of inducing one, it just.. happened, catching me completely by surprise.

It started out normal enough... a bunch of stuff happened, but at that point I didn't realize I was dreaming. Then I was walking around out back of my house, and there was this guy walking around on the roof. I've seen him a few times, talked to him less than a few times, and I think he's pretty cute, although I hardly know him. Anyway, I waved to him, and then I just started flying!!!

I flew around in a lazy, dissinterested way for a while, thinking to myself, "This is pretty cool. I normally only do this when I'm... DREAMING!! omfggg!!!11!!" Yeah.. XD

I was completely amazed when I was hit by the realization that I was dreaming and I knew it... and I knew there was a special name for it that I'd learned somewhere else... oh yeah, lucid dreaming!! And simultaneously, I suddenly became aware of the stunning DETAIL all around me... The sunset landscape was absolutely gorgeous. It felt so incredibly real.

To see if I really knew I was dreaming or if I was just DREAMING I knew I was dreaming (does that make any sense?) I tried an experiment: I attempted to feel my physical body. And it worked; I could feel myself laying there in my bed. This kind of scared me.. I was afraid I would lose the dream, so I went back again real quick and didn't have any problems... just swooping around, feeling so free.

Then I invited the guy to go flying with me. We went soaring down the highway, dodging in between all the cars in exhiliration and really freaking out all the drivers. XD Then I got hungry, so a Subway appeared. I was about to go there when my little brother woke me up, with some crap about how I had to get up and wash some potatoes.

Shame. I was really looking forward to seeing what it was like to eat in a lucid dream.

But still... OMGz0rz, guys, I had one!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! That's awesome for a first-time lucid dream, and you'll definitely have a lot of fun next time. I know exactly what you mean with dreaming that you're LD'ing. I did that right after learning about LDing, and when I woke up, I just thought "Doh!" You sound like you're well on your way to being able to become lucid at will, since actually being able to recognize dreamsigns is one of the hardest parts.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

*laughs* Interesting... care to elaborate? Do you mean that you took jumping off boxes as a dream sign? Funny. I do it in real life all the time; I would never notice.

Erm...well, your name does start with an R, and that's only one letter off of S. And so is T, coincidentally...Anyway. I've had SO many dreams were I dreamt that I was lucid dreaming! It's annoying! Once I told my friend in a dream (where I was sitting on a very large air compressor in a room with no doors) "Hey! I'm dreaming! "That means I can make *insert girl's name here* appear!" So I turned around, expecting to see her, but she wasn't there. Then, the next dream I was semi-lucid, but not much.

Wow that sounds like it would have been great!! Ive had three lucid dream experiences but they were all REALLY short and nothing near as exiting as what you had! Congrats. Yeah one of mine happend after i gave up trying one night because i was frustrated with my lack of progress! hmmm. Well, after you have one they say the rest come way easier so keep it up.

Don't worry, Rain. I won't let them hurt you... Until I get there first.

Anyway, contratulations! That sounds like an awesome dream! I've only had some short LDs, but the first couple were absolutely amazing! I wish you more and for enough time to enjoy them!
