      Unique sensation?

Tonight I felt something very strange in my dream. I saw myself in 3rd

person. I was in some kind of long room and I was about to touch/grab

something *very* secret/important. It was on a pedestal in front of me.

It is very vague. I dont remember what it was . The thing is - as i was

about to grasp this item, *something* huge and powerful touched my

dream fabric. [Obviously it was some kind of guard or force interventing...]

And this created a huge circular waves around the touched area.

It can be best described as waves, left when you touch a body of water...

Actually i felt that my dream was some kind of liquid matter...

Everything started to vibrate and my field of vision was distorted. I

jumped into first person. Everything looked very unstable.

I was shocked/terrified (nothing ever affected my dreams)

and decided to take a run for my life before

everything collapsed... [actually it's first time i found myself running in a

dream]. I escaped into some kind of gym with a lot of people in it. They

behaved naturally. I was afraid that this *thing* may

      "touch" this area too.

Suddenly I became suspicious of all this stuff.

I found myself performing a reality test in reality. Strangely, my hands

felt extremely heavy, I guess i was still half asleep....

      anyone else experienced something similar?

Yes'm. It's extremely rare that I dream myself in third person, but I've had dreamworlds crumble around me in a variety of ways. Every time it happened, I always felt set upon by an outside source. Scares the hell out of me every time.

i have 3rd person dreams all the freaking time, and they go back and forth between 3rd and 1st person, kind of strange, i think when i become lucid it goes to first person, then when i fly it goes back to 3rd so i can visualize all the surroundings.
i would rather my dreams be in 1st person because i think they are more exciting in a way.

The sun reluctantly rises on a red blanket of loosely figured clouds,
I raise my head to see, and you are standing there over my body.
I was still bleeding and you did not even care to hold the wound.
Best friends, we know that’s a bunch of bullshit.-me[/b]

i quite often dream in 3rd person, but have had nothing similar to the force that you described preventing you from reaching what ever was on the pedestal.

my boyfriend however, has had a lot of experiencing with lucid dreaming and has experienced great forces holding him back/pushing him down - prevention from reaching places where he is still not ready to go.

don juan talks a lot about dreaming. it would be worth reading some of his stuff if you haven't already.

I've read almost all of Don Juans stuff. I found The Art of Dreaming to be really interesting.

Wow that sounds scary . I have never had a dream like that or had it collapse on me. For me I prefer a 3rd person view.
