Unhappy Lucid Dream, but once again fooled. >:[

Okay, so I was dreaming I was in my front yard, and my cat was on top of the brick wall that seperates my house from my neighbor's house. I said "Here kitty, kitty. Come down, now!"
My cat jumped off the brick wall and dissapeared into thin air. I then realized I was dreaming. The first thing I did was try to fly. I imagined myself flying in the air. I ran across my lawn and jumped. But I fell down. My legs felt like they were being weighed down. I jumped again, but it felt like I was having a muscle spasm. I ran inside my house, and my mom was there, already knowing what was going on. I lost lucidty, but kept dreaming. So, I was fooled, because I couldn't fly, so I gave up.
      Stupid me!!!!

oh what's bad about this? at least you became lucid man! just keep trying. the first time you become lucid, just relax, stabilize. that means, become more aware.
      bye!

Yeah don't worry, it's all part of the fun and challenge - at least you're getting lucid.

Next time imagine you are as light as a feather as you jump. Really imagine the feeling as clearly as you can. I would even practice imagining being as light as a feather a few times throughout the daytime to get your brain primed for producing the sensation.

If you continue having difficulty then I would suggest you switch your launching method. Rather than running and jumping, which only gives your brain a split second to simulate weightlessness and is doubly difficult given it has to resist the expectation of what happens when you run and jump in the waking world, I would simply stand still and imagine the feeling of floating upwards. That's how I usually fly.

Don't worry you will be able to fly. In a dream you can do anything you set your mind to

Don't feel too discouraged. You had a lucid dream, that's something to be happy about!

Sometimes dream control takes a little practice. Before your next lucid, take a look at this flying tutorial and remember a few methods you can try. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=62542

It also helps if you jump from up high, at least ten or twenty feet up. That way you'll already be in the air and you can just work on staying up there.

Above all, keep trying, keep practicing and believe you can do it.
